Amas Musical Theatre Announces Free MARRY HARRY Performances, 4/26-28

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff/Artistic Producer) will present free performances of "Marry Harry", a new musical with book by Jennifer Robbins, music by Dan Martin, lyrics by Michael Biello, directed by Kent Nicholson. The performances will take place on Thursday, April 26th at 4:00pm, Friday, April 27th at 3:00pm and 7:30pm, and Saturday, April 28th at 1:00 pm at Foxwood Rehearsal Studios, 214 West 43rd Street.

"Marry Harry" is the story of two young adults about to turn 30 who find themselves still living and working with their parents. Little Harry aspires to be a great chef but can't escape his father's dream of carrying on the family restaurant. Sherri keeps following her mother's terrible advice and has become a terminal bride-to-be. Both parents have even bigger problems.

""Marry Harry" is a rare gem. It's a real screwball comedy, as well as a cool musical," says Donna Trinkoff, Amas's Artistic Producer. "What's really fun about the show is that it takes place in the East Village, replete with a host of real New York characters."

The presentations are part of the ongoing Amas Lab and Workshop Series, a development program for writers, lyricists and composers to develop and advance their new musicals. These four performances are being offered free to the public.

"Marry Harry" marks the bookwriting debut of Jennifer Robbins (screenplay, "Family Blues"), and features the songwriting team of lyricist Michael Biello and composer Dan Martin ("The Cousins Grimm", "Breathe"). Choreographer is Christine O'Grady (Prospect Theatre's "Iron Curtain", and musical staging of Amas' "Signs of Life"). Direction is by Kent Nicholson ("Wet", "Five Flights").

The cast includes Cameron Folmar ("The 39 Steps"), Annie Golden ("On the Town", "The Full Monty"), Pia Glenn (Condoleezza Rice in "You're Welcome, America"), Philip Hoffman ("A Catered Affair", "Into the Woods"), Jillian Louis, Javier Munoz ("In the Heights"), Adam Overett ("The Light In the Piazza"), Blair Ross ("42nd Street"), Mariand Torres ("Wicked" Nat'l. Tour), and Katie Zaffrann.

Theatre programs at Amas are supported, in part by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council, the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature, and by the BMI Foundation, the Barbara Bell Cummings Foundation, the Dramatists Guild, the Frederick S.
