Aimee Mullins Returns To NAKED IN A FISHBOWL 12/5

Actress, Model, Olympic Athlete Aimee Mullins rejoins the fully improvised live sitcom, Naked in a Fishbowl, Monday, December 5th at 7pm for their season finale.

“Aimee is a consummate risk-taker,” said Producer Lauren Seikaly, “which made her last performance with us unforgettable. We want to go out with a bang this year, and Aimee’s appearance seals the deal.”

Aimee’s film debut was a starring role in the highly acclaimed film by contemporary artist Matthew Barney, Cremaster 3, first presented in the US at the Guggenheim Museum in 2003. Cremaster 3 was lauded by The Guardian as "the first truly great piece of cinema to be made in a fine art context since Dali and Bunuel filmed Un Chien Andalou in 1929. It is one of the most imaginative and brilliant achievements in the history of avant-garde cinema." Currently starring as Isis, she continues her work with Barney in Ancient Evenings, an adaptation of Norman Mailer’s novel of the same name. To help foster the growth of additional strong and confident women in the comedy world, we have developed workshops and classes based on the tools we use to improvise and create a brand new comedy show every week. In a supportive and encouraging environment led by women, you’ll find the freedom to explore and move beyond your comfort zone to find your true voice and your true funny. This new approach to improv focuses on strengths and traits unique to women and is about finding not just the truth in comedy, but the comedy in the truth. If you’ve never taken an acting or improv class in your life, or if you’re a seasoned veteran, you will find this class rewarding, enlightening, and a hell of a good time!

Fully improvised and filmed live, Naked in a Fishbowl chronicles the lives of six women in New York City with hilarious, startling, and bare-naked honesty. Fishbowl premiered at the NY International Fringe Festival in 2007. The cast was presented with the Outstanding Ensemble Award and hailed as the “brightest lights of the festival.” Since re-launching in 2010, this all-female comedy troupe has delivered "knockout" performances that WCBS calls "Smart, honest, and definitely fearless." They have created over 50 original episodes in front of a live theatre audience. The resulting web series has garnered over 400,000 hits online and is watched in over 80 countries. The company recently returned from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where they created six brand new episodes in six days and were listed among the “Best of the Fest.”
