IRT welcomes you to the latest work in the 3B Development Series: Adaptive Arts, a new off-off Broadway Theater Company dedicated to raising awareness of Autism, presents a rarely performed work by J.M. Barrie ('Peter Pan').
Alice Sit by the Fire
March 17-19 at 7pm, March 20 at 2pm.
At IRT: 154 Christopher St., #3B (3rd floor)
The piece examines a day in the life of a less than traditional family caught in the gripes of a melodrama. The only problem? They don't quite know how to act their roles! Adaptive Arts ventures into their living rooms to learn what it means to grow up and be a family.
This production of Alice Sit by the Fire continues Adaptive Arts' tradition of adapting productions for audiences with and without Autism. This will also be the first of Barrie's plays produced for audiences with disabilities.
Directed by Marielle Duke

The Straddler: TROUSERS
A play about two men-one wearing a fifteen-foot pair of trousers, one not wearing any trousers at all-and the bruising conflict that ensues between them.
Tucked away in the old Archive Building on Christopher St., IRT is a grassroots theater development laboratory providing space, support and community to independent artists. Through its 3B Development Series, IRT offers radically affordable space residencies enabling artists to experiment, take risks and test drive new work before adventurous audiences and fellow creators. The 3B Series opens up a rare middle ground in New York's theater ecology between readings and full productions, creating a supportive environment for full-bodied exploration and iterative development. Kori Rushton and Ben Vershbow, curators.
