The Accidental Shakespeare Company and their Artistic Director, Kim Wong, are proud to continue their exciting "Hit & Run Shakespeare" series with their 10th production, MACBETH.
Hit & Run Shakespeare: MACBETH will be performed today, September 7th at LA PLAZA CULTURAL, an outdoor theatrical space in the Lower East Side of NYC.
Fully memorized and without a single rehearsal, Accidental's company will be begging these questions: What would you do to become King? Would you follow the advice of 3 strange women? Do you see dead people (at the dinner table)??
As a tragedy, MACBETH presents an interesting dilemma with having violence on stage, in an unrehearsed setting. Accidental has decided, with the use of an outdoor venue, LA PLAZA CULTURAL, that this production will use water. As always, audience members may bring a prop for the performers to use throughout the play. But fully expect to get as wet as the performers in this tale of murder, royalty and witchcraft!
The rules of "Hit & Run" dictate that there will be no director. A referee keeps the show moving, blowing the whistle for any dropped lines, missed cues or late entrances. With all "fouls" recorded on a scoreboard, giving the event a game-like quality, the actor with the most fouls at the end of the evening is awarded a prize.
With 9 "Hit & Runs" under their belt, Accidental is excited to bring their style of "pure, spontaneous play" to the Bard's Scottish saga.
Casting is still TBA.
