Fresh from a sold out run with Ballybeg at the Barrow Group Theatre, EMPANADA FOR A DREAM is a haunting love song to the Lower East Side. Juan Francisco Villa's return to the neighborhood of his childhood is a dangerous and hilarious tale about growing up by getting out. Directed by Alex Levy.

This year's line-up includes three FRINGENYC alums:

Baby Redboots' Revenge
Voted "Best In The Fringe" in 1997, performer Sean Sullivan is back with a vengeance in the re-imagined, recharged, rebooted Baby Redboots' Revenge! A former child star, whose voice changes belatedly at the age of 25, is trapped playing stand-up bass in a polka band for all eternity.

I Light Up My Life The Mark Sam Celebrity Autobiography
From the creators of Blanche Survives Katrina in a FEMA Trailer Named Desire, the world's first preemptive celebrity autobiography! Attempt to stomach this smut-fueled, casually offensive road-to-success story of a celebrity who has succeeded nowhere - but in his own mind.

The Event
A man stands in a pool of light and attempts the ultimate magic trick: disappearing while remaining in full sight. A thought-provoking, comic journey beyond the 4th wall into the dangerous slippery territory that lies beneath the written word.

This year's line-up includes three women playwrights:

Convergence
A haunting story of fear and love, faith and reason, Convergence explores the intersection of seemingly opposed forces, and the explosive consequences of their collision. How far would you go to protect your family from harm, or to ensure them a spot in the Kingdom of Heaven?

Human Fruit Bowl
WINNER Creative Award for Best Production at Prague Fringe Festival 2011. Enter a fine art nude modeling session-a tub, a scarf, a stool and a naked woman-Human Fruit Bowl investigates the relationship between artist and model. What are the stories we tell about artists and their muses? What are the truths, if any, to be found?

When Thoughts Attack
An uproarious tragic new show, Kelly is caught in a whirlpool of anxiety. Armed with a good sense of humor, she goes to battle with her mind.

This year's line-up includes two multi-media pieces:

unFramed
Enter the studio of Antiqua-born Iyaba Ibo Mandingo where poetry and painting ignite. Using canvas, paint, poetry, prose, and song, he tells his story of life as an immigrant in America. Throughout the play Iyaba shares his rage, his determination, and his hope while he paints his self-portrait.

UBU
Inspired by Ubu Roi, UBU is the King of the Great Expanding Universe who will allow a privileged few into his mansion to watch him eat steak. A kinetic romp through the absurdist world of the most powerful CEO in the universe.

And the African art of body percussion:

Reception
Through body percussion and voice, James Harrison Monaco transports the audience to a gaudy rented mansion on Long Island for a wedding reception, filled with existential despair, disgust, and love.

Tickets are $20 for individual shows; $30 for two-shows; $100 festival pass (50% discount).

Tickets will be available online at www.terranovacollective.org. Tickets may also be purchased in-person at Box Office ½ hour in advance of the performances. Running Time: All shows are 90 minutes (or less).

soloNOVA Arts Festival (SAF) is now the longest-running solo performance festival in New York City. SAF began in 2004 as a vehicle to showcase innovative artists representing various disciplines and cultures, and whose solo performances reflect distinct perspectives. The 3-5 week festival hosts 8-10 performers annually, who perform five times each in repertory. SAF is  specifically curated to showcase the best in puppetry, dance, magic, physical theater, multi-character monologues, multi-media, and other forms of storytelling, and aims to bring forth ideas and experiences from varying cultures. The New York Innovative Theatre Awards has presented SAF programming with 22 nominations and 6 awards over the past three years.

terraNOVA is an ever-expanding collective of artists devoted to nurturing distinct and innovative theatrical voices. It is dedicated to cultivating environments where the art of storytelling thrives, and actively seeks stages for the new theatre it develops.

Since its inception, terraNOVA has staged 8 full-scale productions, over 20 plays within 7 new play workshop series, and 8 annual solo performance festivals that feature diverse artists of many disciplines. Over the past 8 years, terraNOVA has developed more than 80 plays through Groundbreakers, and has given a platform to approximately 320 solo artists in our annual soloNOVA Arts Festival.

terraNOVA has been hosted within several artistic homes, including Performance Space 122, the DR2 Theatre and D-Lounge at the Daryl Roth Theatre (theatre-in-residence for two seasons), the HERE Arts Center. This 2012 season, terraNOVA will present within the newly renovated
New Ohio Theater.

terraNOVA Collective has received many accolades including 30 New York Innovative Theatre Award nominations, 8 of which were for the productions of 'Feeder: A Love Story' by James Carter and 'Blue Before Morning' by Kate McGovern.
