Ziemba, Oscar Set For THE TAPIOCA MIRACLE Invitation-Only Staged Reading 4/27

An invitation-only staged reading of a new musical, The Tapioca Miracle, is set for Monday, April 27 at 2 & 7 p.m. at Chelsea Studios, 151 West 26th Street, The Tapioca Miracle will have book and lyrics are by Eric Coble and Larry Kaye and music by Dan Kazemi, and will be directed by Tony Award-winner John Rando (Urinetown, The Toxic Avenger).

Featured in THE TAPIOCA MIRACLE will be Karen Ziemba (Curtains, Contact), Brad Oscar (The Producers), Annaleigh Ashford (Wicked, Legally Blonde), and Annie Golden (Xanadu, Full Monty) as well as Cathryn Basile (Little Mermaid, 25th . . . Spelling Bee), Justin Brill (Rent, High Fidelity), Amanda Brizzi, Miguel Cervantes (Happiness, 25th . . . Spelling Bee), Alex Keiper, Jason Kravits (Drowsy Chaperone), Hilary Leichter, Maureen Lynch, Julian Miller, Mark Murphy, Michael Phillip O'Brien, Ronica Reddick, Kilty Reidy (Drowsy Chaperone), Noah Weisberg (Legally Blonde, South Pacific), and Michael West (Forbidden Broadway).

The Tapioca Miracle is the story of Doris Blodgett, who discovers the face of Ezekiel the Prophet in an expired cup of tapioca, while cleaning her fridge. Chaos ensues, uncovering revelations about fame, faith, and finding one's place in the world.

Eric Coble's plays include Bright Ideas, The Good Guys, Natural Selection (Humana Fest), and For Better, and have been produced Off-Broadway and around the country. Larry Kaye is a director, producer and writer. He directed the Washington premiere of The Musical of Musicals (The Musical) and is currently represented off-Broadway as Associate Producer of ROOMS a rock romance at New World Stages. Composer Dan Kazemi recently debuted an evening of original music at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival's Way Up High, a fusion of tap and modern dance exploring the spectrum of emotions associated with color. He also composed the original theme for Duo Madrona, performed at the World Festival of the Circus of Tomorrow in Paris.
