Rattlestick Playwrights Theater presents their 2017 Alumni Jam tonight, October 17, at 7:30pm.

Rattlestick's annual Alumni Jam is a grand-slam evening where Rattlestick invites back a cohort of some of their most beloved all-star and up-and-coming playwrights to share excerpts of their new work. The evening is an opportunity to gather in an intimate setting to experience explosive new plays, to meet the creators, and to celebrate the Rattlestick community.

The 2017 Alumni Jam will be hosted by Emmy nominee and Rattlestick Board Member Zachary Quinto (Broadway: The Glass Menagerie; "American Horror Story").

The evening will feature writers Sheila Callaghan ("Shameless", "United States of Tara;" Rattlestick: That Pretty Pretty, Everything You Touch), Jessica Dickey (Rattlestick: Amish Project, Charles Ives Take Me Home), Laura Eason ("House of Cards;" Rattlestick: The Undeniable Sound of Right Now), Craig Lucas (Broadway: An American in Paris, Light in the Piazza; Rattlestick: Ode to Joy, Miss Julie), Xavier Galva (Middle Voice at Rattlestick's The Parlour), and Florencia Lozano ("Narcos;" Rattlestick: underneathmybed), as well as performances and appearances by Erik Lochtefeld, Marty Moran, Ana Noguiera, Amy Ryan, Samantha Soule, and more.

Tickets for tonight's Alumni Jam are still available for $75. Tickets can be purchased by calling 212-627-2556 or visiting www.rattlestick.org.

Since 1994, RATTLESTICK PLAYWRIGHTS THEATER has created, developed and produced many of the nation's greatest playwrights and their works. Our mission is to provide a positive, nurturing experience for emerging playwrights, to present diverse and challenging plays that otherwise might not be produced, and to foster the future voices of American theater. When we take on a playwright, we guarantee him or her a second production, regardless of the reception of the first. We have produced the first plays and early works of some of today's leading voices, including Annie Baker (The Aliens), Sheila Callaghan (That Pretty, Pretty), Jesse Eisenberg (The Revisionist), Martyna Majok (Ironbound), Adam Rapp (The Hallway Trilogy), Lucy Thurber (The Hilltown Plays), and Craig Wright (The Pavilion). They have also produced works by some of our nation's most important playwrights, including Charles Fuller (One Night...), Craig Lucas (Ode to Joy), Dael Orlandersmith (Horsedreams), and José Rivera (Massacre, Sing to Your Children), whose risky and challenging works other theaters are unwilling to produce.
