Shortened Attention Span is proud to announce the world premiere of Rosemarie Hester's new one-act play, You Can't Leave That There!, as part of the The Shortened Attention Span Baseball Festival at the Players Loft in The Players Theatre.
You Can't Leave That There! will be directed by renowned director and author Brent Buell. The cast will feature Aida Angotti and Barbara Ann Davison. Also in the cast are Beau Baxter, Rosie DeSanctis, Jerome Weinstein and introducing Timothy Scarpato.
You Can't Leave That There! will be performed on Thursday, March 13 through Saturday, March 15 at 8PM and Sunday, March 16 at 3PM. The Players Theatre is located at 115 MacDougal Street (between West 3rd and Bleecker Streets).
"You Can't Leave That There! is a comedy based on the humorous, touching, and ultimately generous interactions of six people from the same neighborhood in Brooklyn. Thrown together by a minor incident on the street, the characters lay bare the gentle point that it is often a stranger who can see best into someone else's heart. Set on the kind of day in early May that we remember from childhood--the kind of day for which we never stop yearning--the play paints the stories of city lives with the almost photographic truth of Edward Hopper. In the end, it is the youngest member of the group who makes a final poignant gesture, bringing the play full circle and fully sealing our faith in what was--and still is," describe press notes.
The Shortened Attention Span Baseball Festival is two weekends of short plays about our National Pastime. The Festival will feature the work of emerging playwrights from all over the country, with the unifying theme of the plays being the subject of baseball and how the game touches our lives. The plays deal with a range of topics, from the relationship between mothers and sons, learning what the "bases" mean, and players dealing with regret for choices they have made. .
The Festival will run from March 6, 2008 through March 16, 2008. Performances will be on Thursdays though Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 3pm. Tickets are available at www.TheaterMania.com or call 212-352-3101. Tickets are $17.00. You can also call The Players Theatre at 212-475-1449 to confirm availability for tickets at the door on the day of the show.
