The award-winning York Theatre Company is pleased to announce they have become an official drop-off center for Toys for Tots in New York City.
The York will be accepting toy donations at their box office during regular box office hours (Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 6 PM) and also one hour prior to all show times for performances throughout the month of December. Producing Artistic Director
James Morgan stated, "This relationship with Toys for Tots helps York maintain a positive, social neighborhood presence not only on the Upper East Side but in New York City. We care about our community and hopefully this will help a bit during this difficult holiday season."
As an added benefit, anyone who donates a new, unwrapped toy at the York drop-off location during regular box office hours will receive a coupon for $5.00 off the purchase of a regularly priced ticket ($37.50) to the York's upcoming holiday concert production of That Time of the Year. That Time of the Year - a holiday revue celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah and the holiday spirit - plays for five performances only December 18th through 20th at the York. Visit www.yorktheatre.org for more information on the show or to purchase tickets. (Coupon is not valid with any other offer and is subject to availability. Donated toy must be dropped off at the York during regular box office hours to receive discount.)
The
York Theatre Company was nominated for five 2009 Drama Desk Awards, four
Lucille Lortel Awards, two Outer Critics Circle Awards and two Drama League Awards for its productions of Enter Laughing, The Musical and My Vaudeville Man! last season.
York Theatre Company is one of the only companies in the city committed to developing and producing new
