Will Taylor Stars In LOVERS On Theatre Row, Opens 7/15

LOVERS, a featured new musical of the 2010 Midtown InterNational Theatre Festival will star Broadway's Will Taylor (A Chorus Line, La Cage Aux Folles, The Producers) at Theatre Row beginning July 15.

"LOVERS explores the darker side of a relationship spanning 8 years from idealistic beginnings to waking realities of adulthood, unraveled from the grave through a scorned lover's final note. Set to the backdrop of New York City, Chip (Will Taylor*) and Jolie (Courtney Hammond*), found themselves falling fast for each other when a night of graduate school debauchery turned into a chance to build assemble something special. Transitioning lifestyles back and forth over the Brooklyn Bridge their story is set against human rhythms, harmonies and ultimately, the discords of Manhattan dreams versus Brooklyn realities.

In a misinterpreted glimpse at reflection, these lovers sought assembled beliefs thought to sustain a lifetime. But, as Bohemian expectations turned 9 to 5 realities choices were made and dreams were deferred, sometimes....or not... with tragic results."

Taylor is originally from Charlotte, NC and is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon School of Drama. He has appeared on Broadway in A Chorus Line as Bobby, La Cage Aux Folles as Phaedra, The Producers as The Nazi Tenor, 42nd Street and The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas (Actor's Fund). He is featured in the blockbuster movie Sex and the City 2.

Hammond is graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts. She was the co-host of Shamu TV on the Discovery Chanel/Animal Planet and the co-host and Green Team Captain on the live Nickelodeon game show Splat! Theatre roles include Sally Bowles in Cabaret at CAP 21, Ariel Moore in Footloose at Orlando Convention Center and the title role in the Theatreworks national tour of If You Give a Pig a Pancake.

Christopher M. Czyz directs. Recent directorial work Off Broadway includes Distracted with Roundabout Theatre Company and Something You Did with Primary Stages.

LOVERS, book, lyrics, and music by newcomer playwright/composer Christopher Massimine. Direction by Christopher M. Czyz, with Music Direction by Evan Jay Newman and is produced by Massimine/Roytman/Presentations (The West Coast hit, The Most Mediocre Story Never Told!), Ruben Brache (Little Women, Broadway, Shout!, Off Broadway), in Association with Jason Goldstein (Chuckleball, Off Broadway), Matthew Kagen, and The Midtown InterNational Theatre Festival. Casting by MKA (formerly Barry Moss Casting).
