Wide Eyed Productions Presents NOAH'S ARKANSAS 4/21-5/15

Wide Eyed Productions will present the World Premiere of Resident Playwright, Jerrod Boggard's NOAH'S ARKANSAS, April 21-May 15 at the Wings Theatre (154 Christopher Street). Jerrod Boggard has previously written Hugging the Shoulder (semi-finalist O'Neill Playwrights Conference) and The Spin Cycle (published in "Plays and Playwrights 2010"). This is Wide Eyed's third theatrical season in NYC, and NOAH'S ARKANSAS is the company's tenth full-length production under founding artistic director Kristin Skye Hoffmann. Wide Eyed Productions was also named a 2009 Person Of The Year by nytheatre.com.

What do you save when the water starts to rise? Wayne Riggins loves his small-town life. He lives in a sweet double-wide trailer with his beautiful second wife, goes fishing with his father, and sees his teenage son three months every summer. But, as the saying goes, into every life a little rain must fall, and Wayne has to learn how to swim right fast if he wants to save everything from just washing away.

The creative team will include Set Design by Joshua David Bishop, Sound Design by Trevor Daillier, Costume Design by Antonia Ford-Roberts, and Lighting Design by Ryan Metzler.

The production, presented by Wide Eyed Productions will play at the Wings Theatre (154 Christopher Street) April 21-May 14, Wednesday through Saturday at 7:30pm and Sundays at 3pm with an additional performance on Saturday, February 15 at 3pm. JERROD BOGARD (Playwright) is the Resident Playwright of Wide Eyed Productions. A graduate of Florida School of the Arts, Bogard began his show business career as a puppeteer for Bits ‘N Pieces in Tampa, FL. Bogard has written, directed and performed productions for children and adults all around the U.S. and Europe and taught workshops on improvisation and classical theatre styles at grade schools and colleges across the country; Performed an original shadow puppet show at the Prague International Festival of Puppet Arts in the Czech Republic; Wrote and directed the short film Gatorman (Best Mini-Picture- Bare Bones International Film Festival). His plays have been produced in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia. Plays written include: Plays for the Sunni Triangle (Winner "Most Outstanding Script" - Endtimes Productions, NYC); Hugging the Shoulder (semi-finalist O'Neill Playwrights Conference). In Sheep's Clothing (Best Play Nominee - Strawberry One-Act Festival) Jack and the Soy Beanstalk (music by Sky Seals). He has been published in Smith & Kraus' one-act anthology 2009, and the New York Theatre Experience has just published a collection of his one-act plays, The Spin Cycle, in their annual anthology "Plays and Playwrights 2010". In a review of that collection, editor Martin Denton called Bogard "a welcome addition to the panoply of American Playwrights, and certainly one to keep an eye on." NEIL FENNELL (Director) Neil is a Midwestern transplant to New York City, hailing from the Black Hills of South Dakota. Neil holds his BA in Musical Theatre from the University of Northern Colorado. Neil is honored to be working with Jerrod Bogard for the second time; Neil also directed Jerrod's short play First Base Coach for Wide Eyed Productions' The Spin Cycle. Directing credits also include Grease, You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown, Company, and Joint Custody.

WIDE EYED PRODCUTIONS is a New York City-based collective of artists dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in risk-taking, relevant theatre. Our core ensemble is committed to the birth of new works and also the rebirth of the classic texts. Through our collaborative process Wide Eyed discovers and creates theatre that both stimulates the imagination and awakens the public's passion for high standards in the performing arts.

Wide Eyed was born September 8, 2007 and was founded by Kristin Skye Hoffmann, Liz White and Sky Seals, all graduates of University of Northern Colorado's performing arts program. Wide Eyed Productions was built as a platform for talented people to be recognized, and to be a place where quality productions abound. This is Wide Eyed's third theatrical season in NYC, and Noah's Arkansas is the company's tenth full-length production under founding artistic director Kristin Skye Hoffmann.
