The cast Off-Broadway's Walmartopia will celebrate the release of the new musical's cast recording on the same night it celebrates the show's 100th performance - Tuesday, December 4.  Every audience member at that performance will receive a free copy of the show's CD, and an on-stage autograph party will immediately follow the show.

Walmartopia, the irreverent political satire of big business and eternal smiley faces, is written by Catherine Capellaro (Book) and Andrew Rohn (Music and Lyrics).  Mr. Rohn's tuneful and eclectic score incorporates pop, rhumba, marches, anthems and power ballads, set against a book that is campy and caustic and, well, as timely as today's headlines (especially the part about unions and strikes).

Currently playing at The Minetta Lane Theatre, Walmartopia will end its run after the evening performance on Sunday, December 30.  The show began preview performances on August 23rd and officially opened, appropriate enough, on Labor Day, September 3. The cast of 11 - portraying blue-vested singing-and-dancing Wal-Mart employees - will have performed a total of 10 previews and 136 regular performances.

Walmartopia is directed by Daniel Goldstein with choreography by Wendy Seyb and music direction by August Eriksmoen (who produced the cast recording).  The cast features Cheryl Freeman and Nikki M. James, Sarah Bolt, Charl Brown, Bradley Dean, Stephen DeRosa, John Jellison, DeMond Nason, Pearl Sun, Scotty Watson, and Helene Yorke.

Walmartopia plays the following performance schedule: Tuesdays through Saturdays 8:00 p.m., Sundays 7:00 p.m., with matinees on Saturdays & Sundays at 3:00 p.m.  Tickets are priced at $65 & $45, and may be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com or by calling (212) 307-4100. www.walmartopia.com
