Sufferin' Sappho! Everyone's favorite Amazon is coming out of retirement and New York City is the first stop on her Magic Lasso Comeback Tour. Wonder Woman's new career as a karaoke lounge singer is paralleled by Dina, a DC Comics' lackey who discovers a high-flying future and her inner superheroine through her obsession with the Sapphic princess.
Elizabeth Whitney (writer/performer) recently appeared in Meryl Cohn's hit Fringe & Fringe Encore Series play AND SOPHIE COMES TOO and was featured in GO Magazine's "Dyke Drama" and "Class of 2009 100 Women We Love." NY solo performance: Emerging Artists Theatre's "Illuminating Artists Series," The Duplex, HERE, Dixon Place, Galapagos, Fresh Fruit Festival, and PS122. International/Regional solo performance: ABSOLUT Dublin International Gay Theatre Festival (nomination: Best Actress), The Kitchen Theatre, Cincinnatti Playhouse in the Park, Athica Art Space, Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, The Mae West Fest, Bailiwick Repertory, Living Art Space, and Saints & Sinners Literary Festival. Awards include Puffin Foundation for the Arts, Lesbian Theatre Awards from Curve Magazine, Best Performance in the New York City Fresh Fruit Festival, and Best Solo Performance at the Columbus National Gay and Lesbian Theatre Festival.
Peter Michael Marino (Director) is the conceiver and librettist of the musical "Desperately Seeking Susan", featuring the hits of Blondie, which played in London's West End at the Novello Theatre and in Tokyo at the Theater Creation. Recent NYC solo show directing credits include Alicia Levy's "Red Carpet Ride" and "I'm SO There" at The PIT, and Sheila Head's "Head Games" at Ars Nova. Other directing credits include premieres at EST, Don't Tell Mama, The American Globe Theater, The Village Theater and The Duplex. Peter was the recipient of the Backstage Bistro Award and a MAC nominee for the cabaret spoof "More About Me!", which he wrote and starred in. As an
actor, he has performed in the global smash STOMP Off-Broadway, as well as in several
films and television shows.
