Transgender superstar Mila Jam released BRUISED, a powerful, star- studded music video and soul pop EP. The emotional four-track EP, which highlights relationships, abuse, self-discovery, and hope, is now available on all digital providers. The music video will made its official debut at a launch party held at The Cutting Room (44 E 32nd Street) on Thursday, October 4, 2018.

'Every Transwoman has dealt with some form of abuse during her lifetime,' said Mila Jam. 'I wanted to make a video that would show the struggle our community faces and remind everyone that Transwomen are not disposable - they are every bit as beautiful and worthy of healthy love and a safe future as anyone else.'

Seductive and intense with a 1970's retro vibe, BRUISED artfully displays the emotional and physical abuse that all too often occurs between men and Transwomen - sometimes leading to fatalities. Violence and murder is on a terrifying incline in the Trans community, with black Transwomen at the highest risk. Co-

directed by Eric Miclette and Jono Freedrix, BRUISED is a poignant and powerful love letter to every Transwoman who has been abused or murdered at the hands of her partner and aims to inspire discussion around this growing epidemic.

BRUISED features celebrity appearances by Trans performers Laverne Cox ('Orange is the New Black') and MJ Rodriguez ('Pose'), along with 'RuPaul's Drag Race' season ten contestant Yuhua Hamasaki and Ryan Preimesberger (Spike Lee's BlacKkKlansman).

According to a heartbreaking report conducted by the HRC, there have been 25 reported Transgender deaths as a result of violence since the beginning of 2017. Of that 25, 84% were people of color and 80% were women. More than three in four were under the age of 35. Since 2013, there have been 102 reported Transgender deaths due to violence. Most were victims of gun violence, most were people of color, most were women, most were under 35, and more than half lived in the south. Transgender women are estimated to face more than four times the risk of becoming homicide victims than the general population of all women.
