Tony award winning producer Hugh Hysell will be joining the cast of Off-Broadway's longest running play, PERFECT CRIME, in the role of Lionel McAuley, a savage yet charming serial killer who puts on various disguises to kill his wife's lovers and protect the teenage daughter he loves. He is a funny, dangerous, unpredictable and heartbreaking character who wants to be known as "The Baseball Bat Killer." He will begin performing in the role on Monday, June 1.

Mr. Hysell's New York credits include My Big Gay Italian Wedding, My Big Gay Italian Funeral, The All-Male Importance of Being Earnest (also adapted and directed), Young Abe Lincoln, Babes in Toyland, and Villain De Blanks. Hugh has performed in every state in the USA with tour credits including The Phantom of the Opera, Pippin, Pirates of Penzance, The Fantasticks and From Sea to Shining Sea. Favorite regional credits include Tintypes (Seven Angels), Greater Tuna (Encore Stages), Buddy (Gateway Playhouse), Man of La Mancha (Jupiter Theater), and A Christmas Carol (Hippodrome State Theatre). Hugh is a Tony Award winning Broadway producer and his producing projects have included Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, Peter and the Starcatcher, Impressionism, Y-2-Gay The Musical and Seamen The Sailor Musical. Hugh is also an award winning theatrical marketer and president of www.TheMenEvent.com. He is a founding member of The Off Broadway Alliance and currently serves as a nominator for the Off Broadway Alliance Awards.

PERFECT CRIME is the Off-Broadway 'whodunit' that New York Magazine calls "a true New York murder mystery" and the New York Times calls "a crackling thriller" and recently celebrated a record breaking 11,000 performances - continuing its record as the longest running play in NYC history.

The perfect show for Law & Order and CSI fans, PERFECT CRIME is a funny, romantic thriller about a psychiatrist who has apparently killed her rich husband (until he shows up very much alive); the sexy Columbo-like detective who is trying to solve the supposed murder while falling in love with the primary suspect and the psychiatrist's charming but crazy patient who has killed a few people himself. There are Agatha Christie - like twists and turns in the plot and there's an "answer key" for audience members to review after the show if they are still trying to figure out what happened and how.

PERFECT CRIME also features Catherine Russell, who has starred in the show since its first performance and has never taken a sick day or vacation day in the past 28 years. It's a feat that has landed her in the Guinness Book of World Records. Russell's incredible streak has been featured on Entertainment Tonight, The Today Show, Good Morning America and in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Daily News and numerous other media outlets including The Associated Press and People, which dubbed her "The Cal Ripken of Broadway".

The cast of PERFECT CRIME also includes Richard Shoberg (Tom Cudahy, All My Children 25 years), Jack Koenig (Broadway: The Lion King; The Pitmen Painters; Accent on Youth. Off Broadway: Tabletop (Drama Desk Award); Incident at Vichy;) Patrick Robustelli (a well known Broadway restaurant owner making an on-video cameo); Perfect Crime is directed by Jeffrey Hyatt.

Tickets for PERFECT CRIME are available by calling the box office at (212) 921-7862 or online at www.Ticketmaster.com. Student rush tickets ($26) are also available by calling or visiting the box office.

Perfect Crime plays at The Anne L. Bernstein in The Theater Center at 210 West 50th Street on the corner of 50th Street and Broadway.
