Tony Award winner Tony Walton will direct The Irish Arts Center's (553 West 51 Street) concert of a new musical by Thomas Keneally and Larry Kirwan titled, TRANSPORT. The show will play from April 25 - May 1, Friday - Saturday at 8 pm and Sundays a 3 pm.

Transport is a new musical in development that tells the universal story of immigration, loss and redemption, based on the real journey of an Irish woman from Cork to Australia in 1846.

Written and conceived by world-renowned novelist and Man Booker prize winner Thomas Keneally (Schindler's List), with music composed by Wexford's Larry Kirwan, founder of the iconic New York City band BLACK 47, TRANSPORT captures the searing emotion of the Irish diaspora to the Australian penal colony.

Over the course of a week at the Irish Arts Center, top New York theatrical talents including eight actors and three musicians, will to explore TRANSPORT'S ability to reverberate as an allegory for displacement in the times in which we live. The week will culminate in three concert performances at the Donaghy Theatre.

Admission will be $38 on general sale and $32 for members. To buy, click here or call (212)-868-4444.
