Titan Theatre Company Announces 2019/20 Season

Titan Theatre Company announced its highly anticipated 2019/20 season today. The company will present their season as the official "Company in Residence" at Queens Theatre in beautiful Flushing Meadows Park.

 

Titan's Main Stage season features some of their most ambitious titles to date. With an exciting 4 show Main Stage season, as well as expansive outreach and education programs, Titan continues to prove itself as Queens' leading theatre company.

 

The company will kick off its Season with Moliere's masterful comedy, TARTUFFE, directed by Titan Artistic Director Lenny Banovez, and will feature an "A list" ALL-FEMALE cast.

 

Titan's annual production of their original, Award Winning musical adaptation of A CHRISTMAS CAROL by Charles Dickens follows. Continuing a beloved family tradition, the soaring adaptation is back for its 6th consecutive season and is one of the hottest tickets of the city's holiday season. This year will see the production receive a whole new set and costume design, and will feature audience favorite & Titan Company member Michael Selkirk as Ebenezer Scrooge.

 

After the holidays, Titan will present THE AFRICAN COMPANY PRESENTS: RICHARD III. This exciting and powerful play by Carlyle Brown will play in the company's extremely popular "Winter Slot" that featured a completely SOLD OUT run of Jo Roets' CYRANO last season.

 

Titan will close their 11th season with the return of one of their most popular and ambitious trademarks, "Pull out of a Hat Casting". The company last did this in 2013/14 with their smash hit A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM. That production played to sold out houses in its original run, as well as its remount production at Queens Theatre. This season, Shakespeare's masterpiece, ROMEO & JULIET will be the title. The production will be Co-directed by Lenny Banovez and Alyssa Van Gorder. The company will release more details on concept and casting for ROMEO & JULIET in the near future.

 

Complete casting and creative teams will also be announced at a later date.

 

Artistic Director Lenny Banovez, Managing Director Alyssa Van Gorder and company have developed a stellar reputation by offering a consistent level of innovation and quality that has taken the New York City theatre scene by storm over the last ten years. Rising from performing in a 30 seat Tex-Mex Restaurant/Comedy Club to holding the title of "Theatre in Residence" at the premier performing arts venue in the borough of Queens, the Queens Theatre.

 

"Last season we celebrated our successes over the past ten years. This year we make a statement about the next ten", said Artistic Director Lenny Banovez. "This year is by far the most ambitious we have ever had, and that is what our audiences can expect now from us. To push the limits every single season."

 

In Titan's outreach programming this year, the company is teaming up with The Metropolitan Museum of Art by continuing their participation in their "Teens Take the Met" event. Titan is also pleased to continue their partnership with the Ronald McDonald House, providing programming for children and their families. This year also marks a new reading series with the Queens Borough Public Libraries. Info on all these programs will be announced at a later date.
