Channeling Kevin Spacey, the irreverent, whirlwind comedy currently playing Off-Broadway at the St. Luke's Theatre will introduce Tim Intravia in the lead role of Charlie beginning this evening, October 21, 2011. Intravia's prior theatre credits include the title role in Oswald and Tony N Tina's Wedding.
Wolf & William Productions, the show's producers, also recently announced that the play will continue its run at the
St. Luke's Theatre indefinitely.
In Channeling
Kevin Spacey, a three-time Best of Fest winner at the Toronto, Edmonton and Winnipeg Fringe Festivals, we meet film buff Charlie, a meek pushover in a dead end job and a loveless relationship, who emulates the weak characters of
Kevin Spacey. After a particularly soul-squashing day at work, Charlie has an epiphany and resolves to change his life by morphing into
Al Pacino's most famous characters, resulting in a series of devastating and hilarious confrontations that makes Channeling
Kevin Spacey a must-see for movie-lovers of all types.
Called "frantically inventive" by Backstage, "a creative madcap" by Theatremania, and "Brilliant" by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Channeling
Kevin Spacey premiered at the Winnipeg Fringe Festival in July 2008, where it promptly sold out its run and garnered the prestigious Best of Fest award. Following its success in Winnipeg it played The Edmonton Fringe, the largest theater festival in North America, where it again won Best of Fest. Channeling
Kevin Spacey won that same honor at the 2009 Toronto Fringe Festival and in 2010 the show was performed to rave reviews at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale.
