VINEYARD VOICES - the popular Monday night series of panels lead by theater professionals from The Vineyard - will continue this spring with DEVELOPING A MUSICAL on Monday, April 12; THE TV/THEATRE CONNECTION on Monday, May 10; and ALBEE & ENO on Monday, June 7 - all at the Vineyard (108 East 15th Street) in Manhattan.

VINEYARD VOICES offers an opportunity for audiences and artists to go behind-the-scenes and hear theatre professionals share insightful and colorful anecdotes about working in the theatre and creating for the stage and beyond.

How does a musical get to the stage? That question sparks the next VINEYARD VOICES panel - DEVELOPING A NEW MUSICAL on Monday, April 12 at 7:00pm. Among the panelists who will discuss this are: the collaborative team behind THE BURNT PART BOYS (Mariana Elder, Chris Miller and Nathan Tysen); Tony Nominee David Thompson (THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS, STEEL PIER); Tony Nominee Hunter Bell ([title of show]); and Robin Goldwasser & Julia Greenberg (co-authors of PEOPLE ARE WRONG).

From the first idea to the first performance, hear the fascinating stories behind some of Vineyard Theatre's most popular musicals, including PEOPLE ARE WRONG; [title of show]; THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS and THE BURNT PART BOYS. Vineyard Theatre Executive Director, Jennifer Garvey-Blackwell moderates.

Vineyard Theatre is currently producing THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS - the new musical by the legendary composer/lyricist team of John Kander and Fred Ebb, with book by David Thompson and direction and choreography by Susan Stroman at the Vineyard through April 18. Later this Spring, Vineyard Theatre in co-production with Playwrights Horizons will present THE BURNT PART BOYS by Mariana Elder, Nathan Tysen & Chris Miller at Playwrights Horizons from April 30 through June 13.

On Monday, May 10 at 7:00pm the Vineyard will host THE TV/THEATRE CONNECTION, when guests TBA will discuss the relationship between writing, producing and acting in television and theatre.

On Monday, June 7 at 7:00pm join legendary playwright Edward Albee in conversation with playwright Will Eno, additional details TBA.

Douglas Aibel is the Artistic Director of Vineyard Theatre; Jennifer Garvey-Blackwell is Executive Director.

Vineyard Theatre is the recipient of the Tony Award for the musical AVENUE Q and continues as producer of the musical's current production at New World Stages in New York. The Vineyard has also produced the musical [title of show] on Broadway. One of the nation's leading non-profit theatre companies dedicated to new plays and musicals and bold programming, The Vineyard has produced the Pulitzer Prize-winning productions of Edward Albee's THREE TALL WOMEN and Paula Vogel's HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE. The Vineyard has consistently premiered provocative, groundbreaking works and developed innovative educational collaborations. The Vineyard opened its 2009-2010 season with the enormously popular play A BOY AND HIS SOUL, written and performed by Colman Domingo, which The Vineyard recently announced is expected to receive a commercial Off-Broadway production later this season.

VINEYARD VOICES are Mondays at 7pm on April 12; May 10; and June 7.
