After playing to sold houses across the country and internationally, Three Mo' Tenors will arrive in the fall at the prestigious Little Shubert Theatre (422 W. 42nd Street), it was announced today by producer Willette Murphy Klausner. Conceived, directed and choreographed by Marion J. Caffey, the musical event begins previews on September 12th with an official opening night set for September 27th.

"Three Mo' Tenors brings the house down with thrilling performances of opera, Broadway, jazz, gospel, soul, spirituals and blues music. The show begins with Verdi, and soon the music of Motown, Ray Charles and Usher has the tenors grooving on the stage. Three Mo' Tenors is an extraordinary musical event...all music and all passion," as described in press materials.

"Three Mo' Tenors has been captivating audiences around the globe since 2001, when the show was televised on PBS "Great Performances" and RCA released the recording of the show.  Standing ovations have greeted Three Mo' Tenors everywhere they have appeared -- in Chicago, Los Angeles, Detroit, Toronto, and even in Scotland (The Edinburgh Festival Fringe) and Armenia (hosted by The U.S. State Department). Most recently, Three Mo' Tenors appeared at The Apollo Theater with Bishop T.D. Jakes in 'An Evening Without Limits.' 'A Taste of Three Mo' Tenors,' a live CD recorded in Chicago at Nederlander's Oriental Theatre, is available on CD Baby and ITunes."

Because of the extraordinary vocal demands of the show, Three Mo' Tenors features six tenors, who rotate three at a time in alternating performances. Three Mo' Tenors follows the precedent of major opera houses and Broadway productions. The cast of Three Mo' Tenors includes: Kenneth Alston, James N. Berger, Jr. Ramone Diggs, Duane A. Moody, Victor Roberson and Phumzile Sojola.

Marion J. Caffey commented, "The tenors of Three Mo' Tenors embody a musical repertoire of extraordinary breadth. Through song and dance, we hope to elevate the stature of African American musical performers in the world. Our goal is to sing our way into history."

Tickets for Three Mo' Tenors are $75. Three Mo Tenors plays Tuesday - Friday at 8pm, Saturday at 2pm and 8pm, and Sunday at 2pm and 6:30pm.
