Theatre for a New Audience’s Artistic Director, Jeffrey Horowitz and New York Theatre Workshop’s Artistic Director James C. Nicola announced that their co-prodocution of THE GRAND INQUISITOR will extend by popular demand through November 30th, 2008.

C.I.C.T./ Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord’s production of The Grand Inquisitor, adapted from Dostoyevsky's The Brothers Karamazov by Marie-Hél ne Estienne, is directed by Peter Brook and features longtime collaborator Bruce Myers in the title role and Jake Smith as Christ.  The running time is fifty-five minutes.  The Grand Inquisitor will play for a limited engagement beginning previews Wednesday, October 22, at 8:00pm for an opening Wednesday, October 29, at 7:00pm at New York Theatre Workshop, 79 East Fourth Street. The limited engagement runs through November 23.

Since its premiere in Warwick, England in February 2006, The Grand Inquisitor has been performed extensively throughout Europe, South America, and Australia including a sell out engagement at London's Barbican Theatre.  The Grand Inquisitor offers a rare opportunity to experience Peter Brook's work on an intimate scale.

The performance schedule (October 22 - November 23) at New York Theatre Workshop, 79 East 4th Street, between Second Avenue and Bowery, is Tuesdays at 7:00pm, Wednesdays through Fridays at 8:00pm, Saturdays at 2:00pm and 8:00pm, and Sundays at 3:00pm and 7:00pm.
