The Shakespearean Jazz Show reinvigorates and recontextualizes Shakespearean performance. The loose, improvisatory nature of jazz music frees Shakespearean text, allowing the feeling and intent of the words to be expressed in a completely new way. The show's ensemble provides a parade of Shakespearean sonnets, songs and scenes composed to original New Orleans-style jazz.
