The Public Theater Welcomes New Board Members

Public Theater Artistic Director Oskar Eustis, Executive Director Patrick Willingham, and Chair of the Board Arielle Tepper Madover proudly announce the addition of five new members to The Public's Board of Trustees since December 2013. The newly elected trustees of diverse backgrounds, skill sets, and interests are Ashley Leeds, Julio Peterson, Lisa Garcia Quiroz, Teresa Tsai, and Timothy A. Wilkins. The new trustees were elected to the board following Arielle Tepper Madover's election to the office of Chair of the Board of Trustees in December 2013.

"I am so thrilled to have established relationships with five remarkable new Trustees who are passionate about The Public, are leaders in their fields and communities, and who bring a diverse set of skills and experiences to the Board," said Chair of the Board Arielle Tepper Madover. Leeds is the CEO of JED Group LLC, a new, luxury lifestyle brand in the apparel, fragrance, and accessories categories. Peterson is the Vice President of Real Estate for The Shubert Organization, Inc., and works with City agencies on zoning and quality of life issues impacting the Theatre District. Garcia Quiroz serves as the Chief Diversity Officer and Senior Vice President, Corporate Responsibility, Time Warner Inc., and was nominated by President Obama to serve on the board of the Corporation for National and Community Service. Tsai is founder and CEO of Interventure Advisors LP, a private investment and real estate management company that provides advisory and management services to ultra-high net worth individuals, families and other private investors. Wilkins is a corporate partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.

ASHLEY LEEDS is the CEO of JED Group LLC, a new, luxury lifestyle brand in the apparel, fragrance and accessories categories. Leeds is guiding all of JED's business development and financial activities. She also is an experienced investment professional. Prior to her current role, Leeds was a co-founder of RIME Communications Capital, an investment partnership focused on innovative, early stage Internet, media and content companies. >From 1996 to 2007, Leeds was a Founding Partner at Baker Capital, a communications and media focused private equity and venture capital firm. She began her career at Lehman Brothers where she was a media and communications investment banker. Leeds is also a Trustee of the Grace Church School. She is active at Harvard University where she has participated on advisory and fund raising committees. Leeds also has been a Trust advisor to Stanford's Graduate School of Business. She received an MBA from Stanford and graduated from Harvard College where she earned her BA magna cum laude in History.

JULIO PETERSON is the Vice President of Real Estate for The Shubert Organization, Inc. where he manages Shubert's corporate and commercial real estate portfolios, the disposition of transferable development rights, office and retail leasing transactions and outdoor signage business. He oversaw development of the Little Shubert Theatre on 42nd Street. He works with City agencies on zoning and quality of life issues impacting the Theatre District. He is Shubert's liaison with City and State government and works closely with civic organizations in New York City. He is a native New Yorker raised on the Upper West Side. He attended New York City public schools, Phillips Exeter Academy, Cornell University and the Harvard University Graduate School of Design where he was awarded the John L. Loeb Fellowship. He serves on the boards of The Municipal Arts Society, the Association for A Better New York (ABNY), New 42nd Street, Camp Ramapo for Children and The Broadway Association.

LISA GARCIA QUIROZ is the Senior Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer of Time Warner Inc. and President of the Time Warner Foundation. In her capacity at Time Warner, Garcia Quiroz has been charged to ensure that Time Warner's investments in people, community and content are reflective of a leading media company where the best talent can thrive and advance, and its content resonates with increasingly diverse audiences both domestically and globally. Since her appointment, Garcia Quiroz has astutely tied Time Warner's diversity and corporate social responsibility efforts to the company's business goals - something she understands well. Before joining Time Warner's corporate division, Garcia Quiroz worked at Time Inc., where she launched two publications that identified and successfully served new markets: People en Español and Time for Kids. As founding Publisher of People en Español, the magazine grew to become the best-selling Hispanic magazine in the U.S. During her tenure at Time Warner's headquarters, Garcia Quiroz refocused the company's philanthropic initiatives to align with Time Warner's diversity strategy and has invested in the discovery and cultivation of the next generation of storytellers. This portfolio of work has supported thousands of artists and has become a model for fostering diversity among Time Warner's partners and aligning the company's community efforts to its business strategy. More recently, this portfolio has evolved into the launch of OneFifty, a next generation incubator of new talent for the company. Active in civic issues, Garcia Quiroz was nominated by President Obama and confirmed by the United States Senate to serve on the board of the Corporation for National and Community Service, a $1.2 billion federal agency overseeing the country's efforts to engage Americans in service including AmeriCorps, Vista and Senior Corps. In 2014, the President named Garcia Quiroz Chairperson of the CNCS board. Her prior civic service includes appointments by Mayor Michael Bloomberg to serve as Co-chair of the NYC Latino Media and Entertainment Commission. She serves as Vice-Chairperson of the board of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund and on the board of the Apollo Theater in New York City. Garcia Quiroz also served on the board of NuVoTV, formerly SiTV, a Latino focused media venture in which Time Warner was a lead investor. Garcia Quiroz was born and raised in New York City and received both her undergraduate degree and Masters in Business Administration from Harvard University. She resides in New York City with her husband, the author Guy Garcia.

TERESA TSAI has over 22 years of professional experience advising corporations, institutional investors, family offices and private individuals with respect to a wide variety of complex transactions and investment-related issues. In 2011, she founded Interventure Advisors LP, a private investment and real estate management company that provides advisory and management services to ultra-high net worth individuals, families and other private investors. Prior to establishing Interventure Advisors, Tsai was Chief Operating Officer of the New York-based investment office for an ultra-high net worth family's multi-billion dollar global investment portfolio, where she served on the investment advisory board and had primary responsibility for all Private Equity, Real Estate, Structured Products and Direct Investments. Before that, she was the General Counsel of Goldman Sachs' Whitehall Street Real Estate Funds, where she covered the firm's global real estate private equity business. Tsai started her career as an associate in the General Practice Group of Sullivan & Cromwell, where she advised her clients on a broad range of transactions, including corporate finance, project finance, real estate and other transactions, and public and private M&A. Tsai earned her B.A. with Honors from the University of Michigan and her J.D. from Columbia University, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.

TIMOTHY A. WILKINS is a corporate partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. His practice focuses on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments and joint ventures. Wilkins has worked in Japan for 11 years as a lawyer and investment banker. He served in the firm's Tokyo office for seven years and currently practices in New York advising international corporations on acquisitions in the technology, manufacturing and life sciences sectors. He is recognized by Global Counsel as a Leading Practitioner in both M&A and Private Equity in Japan and was recently awarded the Deal of the Year by M&A Atlas. Wilkins is Co-Chair of the firm's U.S. Diversity and Inclusion Committee and has coordinated several initiatives with clients to improve inclusion and representation in the legal profession. Wilkins is also active in several social justice organizations. He is the founding Chair of the Steering Committee of The Opportunity Agenda, a non-profit organization dedicated to expanding equal opportunity. He also serves on the New York City Bar Fund's Board of Directors and as a member of the Committee to Enhance Diversity in the Legal Profession and the Cyrus Vance Center for International Justice. Wilkins pioneered his firm's Legal Outreach Program for New York City high school students and sits on its Advisory Board. He is a frequent speaker on M&A and international topics and is currently an Adjunct Professor of Political Science at Hunter College on International law. Wilkins is a graduate of Harvard College (magna cum laude), Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School, where he was awarded the Ford Foundation Fellowship in Public International Law.
