Emerging Artists Theatre presents The Play About the Naked Guy, directed by Tom Wojtunik to play a four-week off-Broadway engagement at Baruch Performing Arts Center (55 Lexington Avenue--access available on East 25th Street between Lexington and 3rd Avenue). Performances begin Monday, February 4, and continue through Sunday, March 2. Opening Night Performance is Saturday, February 9 at 8PM.
"In The Play About the Naked Guy, the Integrity Players, an off-off Broadway theater company dedicated to faithfully presenting the 'lesser known' classics, is on the brink of shuttering. When a trio of artistically questionable though financially successful impresarios, responsible for such stage hits as Naked Boys Running Around Naked and Drunk Frat Boys Making Porn, offer to help save their company, an epic and hilarious battle between commercialism and artistic allegiance ensues," explain press notes.
The Play About the Naked Guy features Dan Amboyer, Christopher Borg, Wayne Henry, Stacy Mayer, Ellen Reilly, Jason Schuchman, Christopher Sloan and Michael Zahler.
The previous production of The Play About the Naked Guy, entitled, The Gay Naked Play, was produced by Emerging Artists Theatre in 2004, received rave reviews, an extended run, and garnered a nomination from the HX Awards.
The Play About the Naked Guy features scenic design by Michael P. Kramer (nominated for Outstanding Set Design 2007 IT Award, for A New Brain), costume design by David Withrow (IT Award recipient for Bug Boy Blues), and lighting design by Travis Walker. Ryan Homsey is the sound designer and Jennifer Marie Russo is the stage manager. Ryan Kasprzak (IT Award nomination for Edenville) is the choreographer, working with Derek Roland as his assistant.
