The Pearl will host its 2015 celebration honoring New York classics on Monday, April 13, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. at The Penn Club, 30 East 44th Street, New York, NY 10036.

The theatre's annual spring benefit raises essential funds for protecting and presenting intelligent theatre, New York's finest classical Repertory Company, and New York's home for Defining Classics.

The special event will honor playwright Terrence McNally with a Lifetime Achievement Award, as well as recognize community honoree Eugene Carr, CEO Patron Technology and arts and culture technology innovator. A legacy tribute is also planned for Peter Jakobson, stalwart supporter of classic theatre.

A word on the celebration from artistic director Hal Brooks:

"This year we celebrate three extraordinary honorees at the crossroads of classic and modern whose contributions have been essential to The Pearl's success.

With his witty and wonderful love letter to theatre, And Away We Go, TERRENCE McNALLY gave us the tremendous gift of a play written for our company. And while this titan of American theatre has become a cultural icon himself, his pencil is as sharp as ever-crafting new hits, season after season, to add to a lifetime of great work.

Community Honoree EUGENE CARR has brought this classical theatre company into the 21st century with his revolutionary software and business philosophy. Through his work at Patron Technology, this philanthropy champion is unleashing a tidal wave of innovation at The Pearl and countless other organizations across the nation.

Finally, we honor the memory of PETER JAKOBSON who was both a steadfast supporter of classic theatre at The Pearl and a champion of children and the next generation of actors, artists, and theatergoers.

I hope that you can join us-along with some guest stars and surprises-for a wonderful evening honoring these New York Classics and another great year at The Pearl."

All proceeds to benefit The Pearl Theatre Company. RESERVE NOW or call (212) 505.3401 or Download the invitation. Can't attend? Participate with a donation instead!
