The Gallery Players marks the final show of its 43rd main stage season in Black and White and Technicolor with the first NYC revival of the six-time Tony Award winner, City of Angels. Directed by Trey Compton (Mrs. Bob Cratchit's Wild Christmas Binge, The Gallery Players), City of Angels runs May 1-23, 2010.

City of Angels is two shows in one. It is the interweaving of two plots, one dealing with the writing of a screenplay in the legendary Hollywood of the '40's; the other, the enactment of that screenplay. The movie scenes appear in shades of black and white, and the real life scenes are in Technicolor. The show boasts two musical scores. One provides the cast with numbers to help reveal certain emotions or to celebrate particular moments in the way that only music can. The "other" score was written to emulate pure movie soundtrack music, 1940's vintage. It is entirely appropriate, then that the final curtain comes down on two happy endings. City of Angels' Jazz score is by Cy Coleman with Lyrics by David Zippel, Book by Larry Gelbart. City of Angels' originally ran on Broadway for 878 performances, and is the winner of 6 1989 Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

City of Angels features a cast that frequents The Gallery Players and National Tours: Blair Alexis Brown, Tony Castellanos, Chris Cooke*, Amanda Danskin*, Lara Hayhurst (The Light In The Piazza, CDC Theater; Bye Bye Birdie, National Tour), Greg Horton* (Top of the Heap, The Gallery Players), Danny Rothman* (Ace, Signature Theatre; Ragtime, Portland Center Stage), James Ryan Sloan, Abby Stevens* (Passion, Live at Lincoln Center; Annie, National Tour), Matt Malloy, Caitlin Mesiano, Brian Mulay (Yank! A new Musical, The Gallery Players), Jared Troilo* (Jerry Springer, The Opera; Speakeasy Stage), Kathleen Watson, J. Tyler Whitmer* and John Weigand* (Caroline, or Change, The Gallery Players) *performing courtesy of Actor's Equity Association.

The Producer of City of Angels is Becca Goland-Van Ryn for The Gallery Players, the Director is Trey Compton (Mrs. Bob Cratchit's Wild Christmas Binge, The Gallery Players), and the Music Director is Jeffrey Campos (Like You Like It, The Gallery Players; Annie, National Tour). City of Angels is choreographed by Brian Swasey (The Wild Party, The Gallery Players), set design is by Eli Kaplan-Wildmann (Lila Cante, Ted Bardy Studio), lighting design is by John P. Woodey, costume design is by Samantha Guinan, sound design is by Julianne Merrill. The Production Stage Manager is Kyle Atkins* (Riverside Theatre).
