The Flea Theater has announced the promotion of General Manager Beth Dembrow to the position of Managing Director and welcomes Tiffany Kleeman Baran in a newly created staff position of Development Manager.
Beth Dembrow has been General Manager for two seasons where she has managed over 25 productions, including Los Angeles by Julian Sheppard, Oh, The Humanity and other exclamations by Will Eno and Kaspar Hauser by Elizabeth Swados and Erin Courtney. Dembrow came to the Flea as General Manager after two and half years at Lincoln Center Theater where she worked on all mainstage and second stage productions, including the Tony-Award winning productions The Light in the Piazza and Tom Stoppard's The Coast of Utopia. Other management experience includes: Elaine Stritch at Liberty (Broadway); Harlem Song, Salman Rushdie's Midnight's Children (Apollo Theater). She has a B.A. from Cornell University and an M.F.A. in Theater Management and Producing from Columbia University.
Tiffany Kleeman Baran takes on the newly created role of Development Manager. She is currently an MFA candidate in the Performing Arts Management program at Brooklyn College, where she is focusing on development and fundraising. A 1999 graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, she studied acting with the Atlantic Theater Company. Before coming to the Flea, she worked with the Atlantic's development department, the Brooklyn Arts Council's Community Arts Regrant Program, and as an Interim Grants Administrator at New Dramatists.

The Flea Theater is home to the Obie Award-winning Bat Theater Company, one of the most diverse and innovative young resident acting companies in Manhattan. The Bats, as they are affectionately known, perform extended runs of challenging classic and new plays, and support the work of the many visiting performing artists. The Flea is also a beacon for music and dance and performance artists - showcasing the work of LAVA LOVE, Nina Winthrop and Dancers, the New York Goofs, Michael Wolff, the New York Art Ensemble and Kathleen Supové, among many others.
