"The City That Cried Wolf is a rollicking theater-noir starring favorite nursery rhyme characters a la Monty Python!  Little Bo Peep is a sultry singer who seeks her sheep. Jack B. Nimble is the Private Eye hot on her tail.  With sex and adrenaline pumping violence, can Jack crack Rhyme Town's stickiest murder?  Or has he fallen for the wrong dame?  With three little pigs in satin, bears in teddies, and rub-a-dub-dub three men in a tub, this not your average fairytale. Rhymetown is going to the wolves!" explain press notes.

The cast for The City That Cried Wolf features Mat Bussler, Michelle Concha, Chloe Demrovsky, Rebecca Jones, Adam La Faci, Jyll Marie Mihlek and Loren Vandegrift.

The design team includes Josh Higgason (scenic design), Jarrod Jahoda (lighting design), Chloe Demrovsky (costume design) and Mat Bussler (sound design).

Brooks Reeves (playwright), a native of Wyoming, attended Hampshire College, and has appeared as an actor at Hampshire, Smith, and Amherst Colleges and at Lost Nation Theater in Vermont.  He was a founding member of the Gateway Acting Company, affiliated with the Chester Theatre Company in the Berkshires, where he appeared in Defying Gravity and the World Premiere of Random Acts.

Dan Barnes (director) is a director and teacher residing in his native western Massachusetts.  In addition to his recent work with State of Play, Dan is a full time faculty member of The Drama Studio in Springfield as well as an Associate Artist with the Serious Play Theatre Ensemble.  He studied at The DePaul Theatre School in Chicago, Shakespeare and Company, MA, and UMass Amherst.  Directorial credits include: Spring's Awakening, The Skriker, Words, Words, Words, and currently, Comedia del Smartass.

State of Play Theatre is a hot little incubator dedicated to hatching new work by young artists from every medium to enrich the contemporary theater scene.
