"The Boychick Affair-The Bar Mitzvah of Harry Boychick" is making its New York City debut on July 4, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. at The Times Square Arts Center. From the creator of the beloved off-Broadway smash-hit "Grandma Sylvia's Funeral" and former star of the legendary "Tony & Tina's Wedding," "The Boychick Affair" is a hilarious interactive comedy show that gives new meaning to the phrase "dysfunctional family." Already a two year-long hit with audiences and critics in Los Angeles, California, this will be the third stop of an upcoming national tour which includes Las Vegas in late 2009.
At "The Boychick Affair", audience members mingle, eat, sing, dance and laugh with the actors, and much like a real Bar Mitzvah , ‘guests' will enjoy a delicious Bar Mitzvah meal at the ‘reception' portion of the show. From Harry Boychick's unique Bar Mitzvah ceremony to the raucous reception following, the play tells the story of fifteen different characters dealing with comedic and contemporary issues in very exciting and humorous ways.
Creator Amy Lord said, "As a New York native, I am thrilled to be coming home to share my fondest memories of my youth with New Yorkers who will be able to recapture some of their own childhood in this show."
The show will run from July 4, 2009 to September 6, 2009 with the possibility of an extension. Performances will take place Saturday nights at 6:30 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Ticket prices for "The Boychick Affair" are $72.00 per person which includes a full buffet meal. Group and senior prices are $65.00 per person. For group reservations contact Heather at 1-866-999-6929 and for individual tickets contact Brown Paper Tickets at 1-800-838-3006.
