The Barrow Group Reading Series presents Recovery, an original drama by Mark Jason Williams on Sunday April 6, 2014; 7 p.m. at the Barrow Group Theatre Company, 312 West 36th Street.
Recovery is an authentic and funny drama about people with cancer-and those trying to heal them-who are grappling with maintaining their identities and sense of purpose while facing life and death situations. The play follows the story of Michael and Kathleen, who meet in a hospital while undergoing treatment, which leads to a series of natural, nuanced encounters that help each find a personal connection they've been longing for, but also leads to unexpected conflicts as Michael and Kathleen skirt the line between friendship and romance.
The reading will be directed by Mark Grenier. The cast includes: Libby Collins, Matthew Bryan Feld, Stephanie Malove, Myles O'Connor, Michael Murphy and Quinn Vogt-Welch.
