The Barrow Group, under the leadership of Co-Artistic Directors Seth Barrish and Lee Brock and Executive Director Robert Serrell, is pleased to announce that the world premiere of Perp by Lyle Kessler will join the 2018-2019 season. Kessler is best known for the psychological thriller Orphans, which had its Broadway premiere in 2013 with Alec Baldwin, Ben Foster, and Tom Sturridge. Under the direction of Lee Brock, performances of Perp will begin on March 16 and run through April 11, with an opening night of March 25.

In Perp, there's a vicious killer on the loose and the kindhearted Douglass finds himself the unwitting target of detectives who need a win at any cost. Desperate to seek justice, Douglass sets out on a harrowing, fantastical quest to find the true perpetrator. In this riveting world premiere, the lines between good and evil blur in a divine search for redemption.

The Barrow Group's 2018-2019 season is set to begin on November 29 with a rare revival of Martin Moran's Obie Award-winning solo play, The Tricky Part, directed by Seth Barrish (Mike Birbiglia's The New One). Upon its premiere in 2004, Ben Brantley in The New York Times called it a "translucent memoir of a play" that is filled with "disturbing immediacy." Originally developed at The Barrow Group, The Tricky Part garnered two Drama Desk nominations in 2004 including Best Play. This limited engagement, which ends on December 16, marks the first time the autobiographical play is being produced in New York since its original run.

The season continues January 12-February 8 with the world premiere of Awake, written and directed by K. Lorrel Manning. This collection of topical, punchy vignettes explore issues of race, class, and diversity in America.

Due to scheduling conflicts, the U.S. premiere of The Thickness of Skin by British playwright Clare McIntrye (1952-2009) has been postponed to a future season.

Additional details on the 2018-2019 season can be found below. The Barrow Group is located at 312 West 36th Street in Manhattan. Flex Passes and individual tickets to the 2018-2019 season are currently on sale and can be purchased by calling 866-811-4111 or visiting barrowgroup.org.
