Menudo mania is over but the careers of some of the young stars continue to soar. Johnny Lozada Correa is a Puerto Rican singer, actor, host and television personality. Lozada was a member of the Puerto Rican boy band Menudo during its golden years, joining the group in 1980 through 1984. After leaving Menudo Lozada took on acting participating in many Latin Telenovelas. In 2010, Lozada joined Sal Y Pimienta, A latin gossip show, as a commentator. After two years, he left the show to host the hit morning Television show, Despierta America! For Univision.
Lozada will be at the January 26th performance of Growing Up Gonzales at The Jerry Orbach Theater as he considers taking on the starring role of the play which will debut in Miami in the summer of 2018.
Growing Up Gonzales, the story of two brothers in search of life, love and forgiveness, goes into its 40th week.
Growing Up Gonzales is a full length, one-person play about two brothers searching for love and forgiveness. Cisco dies and it is older brother Johnny's job to clean out Cisco's apartment. When Johnny finds Cisco's hidden memoirs he discovers a brother he never really knew...and the journey begins.
This Off-Broadway surprise is written and directed by Felix Rojas and stars Andres "Chulisi" Rodriguez. Lighting Design by James "Pres" Carter, Sound by Nick Rojas, Production Manager Saida Rios. Executive produced by Freddy Ramirez, Dr. Michael and Sandra Lang and Linda Garcia.
