R.Evolucion Latina wants to invite you to support Teatro SEA with their new production of the classic children's operetta, THE TOOTHACHE OF KING FARFAN, winner of 7 HOLA and ACE Awards, including "Best Musical Production, Best Direction, Best Set & Costumes" (2008-09). The show, featuring over 40 life-size puppets, singers and musicians, plays July 9-11 at the Christ Church Auditorium (520 Park Ave. & 60th Street). The production seamlessly blends English and Spanish and is recommended for audiences 8 years of age and older.

Written in 1909, THE TOOTHACHE OF KING FARFAN is a children's theater standard throughout Latin America and Spain. It tells the story of the selfish King Farfan, who gets a toothache, and in return gives everyone around him a huge headache, as he refuses to learn important lessons about love and respect.

THE TOOTHACHE OF KING FARFAN remains a gem among family zarzuelas that originated in Spain and made its way to the Caribbean and Latin America. This whimsical musical is even more special because it features a new score and a revised bilingual script with English and Spanish dialogue, making it accessible to all audiences.

The original book for THE TOOTHACHE OF KING FARFAN was written by the legendary Quintero Brothers, known as the "Golden Boys of Theater in Madrid". The original score by Amadeo Vives was lost, forcing producers throughout the world to commission contemporary composers to create scores for each production. This new production features a score by Manuel Moran and IVan Alexander Bautista. It is a presentation of Teatro SEA, New York's Only Latino Theatre for Children.

"Teatro SEA is thrilled to bring back this production to New York audiences after three years of development." says Dr. Manuel A. Moran, Artistic Director of SEA.

Directed by Manuel A. Moran, the cast includes Francisco Fuertes, Manuel Moran, Jesus Martinez, Annette Cortes, Blanca Vasquez; puppeteers Daisy Payero, Ana Campos, Angela Cruz, Hector Palacios, Edward Cardenales and Yaremis Felix-Colon. Translation is by Antonio Valles; costume design by William Lorenzen III; set and puppets by Jose Lopez; musical direction by IVan Alexander Bautista.

THE TOOTHACHE OF KING FARFAN plays Thursday, July 9th and Friday, July 10th at 7:30 PM and Saturday, July 11th at 3:00 PM; the Christ Church Auditorium is located at 520 Park Avenue ( at 60th St.), NYC. Tickets are $25.00, available at (212) 529-1545 or www.ovationtix.com/trs/pr/664245. For more information visit www.teatrosea.org.
