Target Margin Theater, Off Broadway's extraordinary, Obie Award-winning theater company, continues its themed 2007-2008 On The Greeks: Aristophanika season with the revival of three critically acclaimed productions from last season's unique look at the Greeks: As Yet Thou Art Young and Rash, a timely adaptation of Euripides' "Suppliants;" The Argument, based on Aristotle's "Poetics;" and Dinner Party, adapted from Plato's "Symposium."  Under the direction of David Herskovits, the strictly limited return engagement begins performances on Friday, January 11 and will continue through Monday, January 14 at Theater Three (311 West 43rd Street, 3rd Floor).

As Yet Thou Art Young and Rash asks, "Can we really save the world as it slips into war and confusion?"  Euripides frames burning personal suffering in an urgent civic context: his supplicants struggle to respond to their deep loss as human beings and as citizens; his leaders cloak their plans in the loftiest political rhetoric; his patriotism is passionate and deeply skeptical." Recreating his direction, David Herskovits has gathered the original five-member cast that features Satya Bhabha, Mia Katigbak, Mary Neufeld, Tina Shepard and Stephanie Weeks.

The design team includes Susan Barras (Sets), Meredith Palin (Costumes), Juliet Chia (Lighting), Jane Shaw (Sound), David Rosenmeyer (Original Music), Madelyn Kent (Text Advisor), and Kathleen Kennedy Tobin (Dramaturg).

The Argument, based on both Aristotle's "Poetics" (c. 350 BCE) and the essays of Gerald F. Else, is a passionate student's love-letter and farewell to his teacher – reminding us of the personal pathos that binds us to the Greeks, and firing us up to capture that chimera, art.  This acclaimed solo play is written and performed by the virtuosic David Greenspan.

Dinner  Party, an artful and loose adaptation of Plato's "Symposium" (c. 360 BCE), takes on love from every angle, delving into the original text with gusto to bring out the philosophy and lust, language and appetite, the abstract challenges to our dearly held prejudices – not to mention the really good wine.  The cast features Han Nah Kim, Diana Konopka, Mary Neufeld, Steven Rattazzi, Greig Sargeant, Stephanie Weeks, and Ian Wen.

The creative team includes Sarah Edkins (Scenery), Ásta Bennie Hostetter (Costumes), Lenore Doxsee (Lighting), Jane Shaw (Sound), and Kathleen Kennedy Tobin (Dramaturg).

The performances are scheduled in rotating repertory from January 11 – 14.  For details visit www.targetmargin.org

General admission is $15 with student tickets available with ID at $10.  Tickets may be purchased by calling 212-352-3101, or online at Target Margin Theater's website at www.targetmargin.org.  All performances will commence at Theatre Three (311 West 43nrd Street, 3rd Floor).
