TRACES, the acclaimed show by the Montreal-based troupe 7 Fingers, begins previews tonight, Friday, July 29th at 8pm at New York's Union Square Theatre (100 East 17th Street) and opens Monday, August 8th at 8pm. TRACES will play a 10 week engagement, to conclude Sunday, October 9.

TRACES recently performed for Prince William and Kate as part of Canada Day, as well as on the smash NBC show "America's Got Talent" on Wednesday, July 20th. Their performance on "America's Got Talent" can be seen HERE on NBC.com.

If the world ended tomorrow, what would you leave behind? In TRACES, the human body is pushed to its limits as a group of friends leave their mark in a run-down warehouse through acrobatics, music, and dance. Fusing the traditions of circus with the energy of street performance, TRACES is an explosive display of raw emotion and physicality in an intimate urban setting. When it counts, will you leave it all on the stage?

TRACES features Creative Direction by 7 Fingers (Les 7 Doigts de la Main) and Direction & Choreography by Shana Carroll & Gypsy Snider. TRACES is performed by Mason Ames, Valérie Benôit-Charbonneau, Mathieu Cloutier, Bradley Henderson, Phillipe Normand-Jenny, Xia Zhengqi, and Florian Zumkehr with alternate cast members Héloïse Bourgeois, Sen Lin, and William Underwood.

Les 7 Doigts de la Main translates literally as "the 7 fingers of the hand." It is a twist on a French idiom ("the five fingers of the hand") used to describe distinct parts united tightly, moving in coordination towards one common goal. Here it refers to the seven founding directors of the company (Shana Carroll, Isabelle Chasse, Patrick Léonard, Faon Shane, Gypsy Snider, Sébastien Soldevila and Samuel Tétreault) who, by combining their distinct talents and experiences, work towards their common artistic goals with the beautifully awkward dexterity of a 7-fingered hand.

TRACES is produced by Fox Theatricals (Kristin Caskey & Mike Isaacson), Tom Gabbard, Amanda Dubois, The Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Nassib El-Husseini, and Thomas Lightburn.

Tickets are currently on sale via Ticketmaster.com and by phone at 800-982-2787. The TRACES playing schedule is as follows: Monday, Thursday, and Friday at 8pm; Saturday at 3pm and 8pm; Sunday at 3pm and 7:30pm. BEGINNING MONDAY AUGUST 8TH, the TRACES playing schedule is Monday at 8pm, Friday at 8pm, Saturday at 3pm and 8pm, Sunday at 3pm and 7:30pm.
