TOKIO CONFIDENTIAL Recording, Featuring Jill Paice & Telly Leung, Released Today

The recording of TOKIO CONFIDENTIAL, a new musical with words and music by Eric Schorr that had its Off-Broadway world premiere in 2012, will be released by Broadway Records and is now available for pre-order on the Broadway Records website at www.broadwayrecords.com/cds/tokio-confidential and select retailers. The album will be released on CD and digitally today, May 12, 2015.

Tokio Confidential is the story of Isabella, an adventurous young American Civil War widow who in 1879 sails for Japan, where she meets Horiyoshi, the most renowned Japanese tattoo artist of his time. When Isabella decides to have Horiyoshi engrave her entire body and turn her into a living work of art, their intimate and (for her) intensely painful tattoo sessions lead to a passionate love affair. Ultimately, Isabella's transformation into a stunningly beautiful canvas places her in mortal danger, something the two lovers could never have predicted when they embarked on their artistic journey together.

Jill Paice (An American in Paris, Matilda) recreates her luminous Off-Broadway performance as Isabella and Jose Llana (Here Lies Love, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee) plays Horiyoshi. Jeff Kready (A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, Billy Elliot the Musical), Telly Leung (Godspell,Pacific Overtures; TV: "Glee"), Bruce Warren and Manna Nichols round out the cast for the recording of Eric Schorr's critically acclaimed original musical.

Eric Schorr (Book, Music and Lyrics) composed the score for the Broadway-bound Frog Kiss (Virginia Stage Company, New York Musical Theater Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, winner of The Global Search for New Musicals). He has been commissioned by Virginia Stage Company to write the libretto and score for Poem of the Sea, a new musical about climate change. Other credits include: music and lyrics for Young Tom Edison, commissioned by Theatreworks/USA (Town Hall and Promenade Theater in NYC, Kennedy Center, national tour), CD recorded by Original Cast Records; music and lyrics for Theatreworks/USA's The Civil War: The South Carolina Black Regiment (Town Hall, national tour); music for Howard Crabtree's Whoop Dee Doo! (Drama-Desk Award, Actor's Playhouse, NYC, CD on RCA Victor). TV credits: music and lyrics for Discovery Kids; music for Sesame Street. Eric was also commissioned to write the official Fanfare and Processional Music for The Gay Games, originally performed at Yankee Stadium.
