'TJ & DAVE', 'TWO MEN TALKING' Return To Barrow Street 12/12

Two of the most original theater improv shows to make their mark in New York in recent years -- "TJ & Dave" and "Two Men Talking" -- are both returning to the Barrow Street Theatre next month and again in January. The Barrow Street, which has been an incubator for a genre it calls literate non-scripted theatre, will have the two shows coincide on the same weekends.

The long-form improvisers TJ Jagodowski & Dave Pasquesi, who have been performing weekly at the IO in Chicago for four years, have now become a regular draw at The Barrow
Street, where they perform three-night stints on a periodic basis. The Second City veterans began appearing here regularly in September 2006. Referred to as the Wright Brothers of the unwritten TJ & Dave create full-length, hour-long plays from scratch (without audience suggestions), complete with highly nuanced scenarios, multiple characters and deeply satirical outcomes.

The shows are Friday and Saturday December 12 and 13 at 10pm, and Sunday December 14 at 9pm. Tickets are $20. The pair are also scheduled to return on for three-nights January 30 and 31 at 10pm, and February 1 at 9pm.

"Two Men Talking" is a frank, improvised account of the friendship of two gay, Jewish South African men who've known each other since childhood. Paul Browde and Murray Nossel, who are trained in psychology (Browde is a practicing psychologist), both also pursued careers in the theatre -- and yet their lives trace entirely distinct trajectories. For the past ten years they have been refining storytelling as a twin pursuit-- for the purposes of personal growth and empowerment, as well as for entertainment.

Browde and Nossel forged their friendship whileattending (in the 1960's) an elite Jewish preparatory school in Johannesburg, South Africa.

"Two Men Talking" performs on Friday December 12 at 7:30pm and Saturday December 13 at 5pm. Tickets are $25. Their January dates are Saturday January 31
at 5pm, Sunday February 1 at 5pm.
