The recent trend of reality television has been taking over the airwaves and as of late Broadway with Burn The Floor, the new dance show featuring reality TV veterans Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff of ABC's hit show Dancing with the Stars. Now, reality television has its eyes fixed upon The Joyce Theater by way of Young Soon Hue's This is Your Life, one of three pieces presented by Tulsa Ballet in their return to New York after 25 years.
Based loosely on the concept of the popular 1950s TV show of the same name in which celebrities and public figures would be surprised by family members and old friends as the host went through a biography of their life, Young Soon Hue's This is Your Life combines humor, acting and a dose of pop culture to tell the story of its characters through modern ballet and tango. Created for the company in the spring of 2008, This is Your Life is one of three performances being featured by Tulsa Ballet in their debut at The Joyce Theater.
In addition to This is Your Life Tulsa Ballet's Joyce debut will feature Nacho Duato's stunning Por Vos Muero and Sir Kenneth MacMillan's Elite Syncopation.
