Eric Argyle is having a bad Sunday. It's late. He's still in his pajamas. People are staring at him. And he died at 11:42 AM, two days ago. Meanwhile, across town, a cellist has received over 5,000 love letters meant for someone else. Overwhelmed, she has no idea what to do with them. This heartwarming and magical Fringe First Award-winning play, about lives lived without regret, features an original score using a guitar, harmonium and glockenspiel (all played by the talented cast of eight).

Equal parts comedy and tragedy about life, death and regret, The Guardian called it "an ingenious experience! Young Irish company 15th Oak mix storytelling, live guitar accompaniment and a dollop of whimsy which ventures into Daniel Kitson territory in its examination of marginal existences, connections and disconnections. Only those with a heart of stone could fail to be moved by a story that suggests no life is completely wasted."

THE LIFE AND SORT OF DEATH OF ERIC ARGYLE features Siobhan Cullen, Manus Halligan, Davey Kelleher, Katie Lyons, Dave McEntegart, James Murphy, Erica Murray, and Karen Sheridan.
The set and lighting design is by Colm McNally. The costume design is by Emma Gleeson.

THE LIFE AND SORT OF DEATH OF ERIC ARGYLE is the second play by Ross Dungan (playwright). His first play Minute after Midday won a prestigious Fringe First award at the 2012 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. He was a founder member of acclaimed Dublin sketch comedy group, The Betrayal of Penguins. The Irish Times recognised 'the beginning of a movement' when the opening of Eric Argyle coincided with a play by Ross's co-Penguin Eoghan Quinn. Ross also writes regularly for television including Irish series Fair City and BAFTA Children's Drama Award-winning Roy.

Dan Herd (director) is an Associate Artist of Soho Theatre, and has worked as director and assistant director for The Old Vic, Theatre Royal Haymarket, nabokov, Arcola, Theatre503, Old Red Lion, Regent's Park Open Air Theatre and Public Theater, New York. He has been the associate director of the Lyric Hammersmith pantomime since 2010, working with Sean Holmes on Cinderella and with Steve Marmion on Aladdin and Dick Whittington and His Cat. He has also directed over ten productions at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
