Eric Krebs (in association with The Fortune Society), is pleased to announce that due to popular demand, The Bullpen, the one-man - 18-character comedy - which The New York Times calls "wildly funny" and "a tour de force" by The Huffington Post, and was recently nominated by the Outer Critics Circle as "Outstanding Solo Performance" for 2015, will continue performances at The Playroom Theater (151 West 46th Street - just east of Broadway) through the summer. Previously announced to mark its one-year anniversary and close at the end of June, the show will instead celebrate as it enters its second year Off-Broadway. After his release from Otisville Correctional Institution in October 2013, actor/playwright Joe Assadourian went from the cage to the stage after discovering his theatrical ability while reluctantly participating in a workshop behind bars led by Off-Broadway solo-show actor/director Richard Hoehler. Developed by the duo over two years, both inside and outside the state prison system, The Bullpen premiered Off Broadway on June 22, 2014 for a strictly limited engagement. Having enjoyed several extensions and scheduled to end its run on June 27, the show will continue through August 29.

Producer Eric Krebs comments, "Not only has it been a surprise and delight to produce The Bullpen for an entire year, but it has been deeply impressive to me as a learning experience. As I learn more of the criminal justice system and Joseph's amazing journey to and through it, I realize the true importance of the arts in all of life's circumstances. Along the way, I also have been made to understand many of the injustices in America's "justice" system."

In The Bullpen, a man is arrested, arraigned and put on trial for a crime he claims he did not commit. Consequently he is judged by two systems of jurisprudence - one a jury of his peers in an actual courtroom and the other, the fascinating and hilarious denizens of the bullpen in which he is being held. Mr. Assadourian mercurially transforms from character to character and court to court as the play steamrolls toward both verdicts that literally range from the sublime to the ridiculous.

The Bullpen will play the following performance schedule: Wednesday @7pm & Saturday @4pm.

All tickets are $30 and can be purchased online at www.StepInTheBullpen.com or by calling Theatermania at 866-811-4111.
