"TalkOut Mondays" (after performance) continues March 22nd with Charles Kaiser (author of The Gay Metropolis, the landmark history of gay life in America) & John Loughery (author of The Other Side of Silence which has a chapter about Hay and the era) at the critically acclaimed hit show "The Temperamentals" by Jon Marans at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street). Daryl Roth, Stacy Shane and Martian Entertainment are presenting the new American play. Thomas Jay Ryan (recently on Broadway "In The Next Room") portrays Harry Hay. Michael Urie (from TV's "Ugly Betty") is Rudi Gernreich. Arnie Burton (an original cast member of Broadway's "39 Steps") joins the cast in multiple roles. Rounding out the cast of five multiple talented actors are Matthew Schneck, and Sam Breslin Wright. The critically acclaimed hit show is directed by Jonathan Silverstein. The Set & Costume design is by Clint Ramos, lighting by Josh Bradford and Daniel Kluger is the sound designer. Charles Kaiser is the author of The Gay Metropolis, the landmark history of gay life in America and is an expert on the media, politics, the '60's, and gay life in America. He started writing for The New York Times while still an undergraduate at Columbia College, spending 5 years as a Metro reporter. He then became the press critic at Newsweeks. After a brief stint writing about media and publishing for The Wall Street Journal, he wrote his first book, 1968 In America. The Gay Metropolis was first published in 1997.His writing has appeared in New York, The New York Observer, Vanity Fair, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times and many other publications. Kaiser was a founder and former president of the New York chapter of the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association. He has taught journalism at Columbia and Princeton.

John Loughery, a teacher and writer in New York City, is a Pulitzer Prize-nominated biographer, historian, and art critic. His biography of the painter John Sloan was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in 1996 and his biography of the detective novelist S.S. Van Dine won an Edgar Award from the Mystery Writers of America in 1992. His book The Other Side of Silence: Men's Lives and Gay Identities, A Twentieth-Century History was a New York Times Notable Book and the winner of the 1999 Lambda Award for Gay Male Nonfiction and the Randy Shilts Award from the Publishing Triangle.

Performances are: Monday; Thursday; Friday at 8:00 pm; Saturday at 2:00 pm & 8:00 pm and Sunday at 3:00 pm & 7:00 pm. Ticket prices are: $65 and student tickets for $25 for the mezzanine.
