T. Schreiber Studio (Terry Schreiber, Artistic Director) announced that Balm in Gilead, Lanford Wilson's first full-length play, will receive a second and final extension through December 18, 2010 at the company's Gloria Maddox Theatre (151 West 26th Street, 7th Floor).

Balm in Gilead opened to strong reviews and approval from Mr. Wilson, who exclaimed that the production "was a thrill to see." The initial run was scheduled through November 21st and then, extended through December 12th. After continued sold-out houses, T. Schreiber Studio has added three final performances, December 16th through 18th at 8:00 pm.

Balm in Gilead, which was an enormous hit when it first opened 45 years ago at Café LaMama,
captures the lives of the disenfranchised, the lost, and the derelicts that hang out at an all-night diner on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Joe and Darlene, two young people who desire better lives, are at the center of the maelstrom, caught in the crosshairs of the turbulent 1960s.

"I am delighted that this poetic and haunting play has connected with New York audiences again," said Mr. Schreiber. "The play was a revelation in 1965 and equally as moving today."

Directed by Peter Jensen, Balm in Gilead features a cast of 29, including Seth Allen (Martin), Ian Bell (David), Esteban Benito (Tig), Jill Bianchini (Ann), Dennis Brito (Frank), Tommy Buck (Al), Lowell Byers (Bob), Belle Caplis (Darlene), Amanda Catrini (Singer), Lawrence Crimlis (Dopey), Ian Campbell Dunn (Fick), Jordan Feltner (Rake), Jevon McFerrin (Singer), Erica Lauren McLaughlin (Bonnie), Brad Martocello (Tim), Mariel Matero (Kay), Alona Metcalf (Singer), Michael W. Murray (Stranger), Jason Pumarada (Singer), Orlando J. Rivera (Carlo), Olivia Rorick (Judy), Stephanie Seward (Terry), Lisa Sobin (Babe), Eric Spear (Franny), Christine Vega (Rust), Stewart Villilo (Ernesto), Jonathan Wilde (Joe Conroy) and Richard Zekaria (Xavier).

The Balm in Gilead production team includes Matt Brogan (Set Design), Anne Wingate (Costume Design), Eric Cope (Lighting Design), Andy Cohen (Sound Design), Mickey Theis (Composer), Jessica Osborne (Choreographer), Liz Elise Richards (Stage Manager), Barbara Kielhofer (Producing Director) and Julia Kelly (Assistant Director).

Tickets are $20 and available at www.tschreiber.org or (212) 352-3101.
