Summer Festival 'Once Upon A Dream' Debuts In NYC ImageOnce Upon A Dream goes deep and encourages our audiences to do the same. There is an inner truth that comes with dreams, both in waking and in slumber we get to explore not only our deepest desires and our fondest memories, but also our darkest fears and worst nightmares. Dreams bear a striking resemblance to art which comes from the deepest parts of our souls and brings light to the truths that are buried within. We wanted to bring that element of our festival as well.

In 'Once Upon a Dream,' we bring you five brand new pieces that are all touched by just a little bit of magic.

"Prayers in the Pines," set in the woods on a summer evening, will open our festival with ghost stories and the recurring question "what lies in the darkness?"

Next, we journey to "Why?", a minimalist piece between two people that uncovers the truth beneath a friendship and what happens when your worst nightmare becomes a reality that haunts you with every step you take.

The powerful ending of "Why?" is followed by "Hot Mess" which explores a different kind of justice and the meaning of true friendship through a veil of dark comedy.

The fourth fantastical piece takes place in a cold, dank dungeon. "Inverness" uses the style of Greek Theatre to delve into the harsh reality of a world that is more of a tragedy than the fairy tale promised to a sheltered child.

Our dreamy world comes to a close with two young friends in a forest on the darkest night of the year; the boy leads the girl to the greatest gift one could ever give her. Love, connection and a final moment of magic complete our night of dreams.

Audiences will be touched with the powerful notion that there is not a single thing on our earth that exists without dreams.

Come enjoy this wonderful festival, premiering at The Nubox Theater, 754 9th Ave, 4th floor, New York, NY 10019
