Roundabout Theatre Company's (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) limited engagement of Streamers will play its final performance on Sunday, January 11th at 2:00 PM. Streamers, written by David Rabe and directed by Scott Ellis, features Hale Appleman (Richie), Axel Avin Jr. (PFC), E.J. Cantu (PFC Hinson), Larry Clarke (Sgt. Cokes), Ato Essandoh (Carlyle), Brad Fleischer (Billy), Charlie Hewson (Martin), Jason McDowell-Green (PFC), Cobey Mandarino (M.P. Lieutenant), John Sharian (Sgt. Rooney), J.D. Williams (Roger).
Streamers will have played 29 preview performances and 72 regular performances. Previews began on October 17th, 2008 and opened officially on November 11th, Off-Broadway at the
Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street).
In this powerful American masterpiece, four young soldiers fresh from boot camp wait anxiously in 1965 Virginia, watching the Vietnam conflict escalate. As they struggle to make sense of their new life in the army, tensions rise over race, sexuality, and class, culminating in an explosive act that changes them forever.
Streamers is an unflinching exploration of the turmoil and confusion facing young men threatened by forces beyond their control.
