Actor Stephen Bel Davies has joined the cast of the Roundtable Ensemble's production of Chris Kipiniak's Save The World. He has replaced actor Jonathan Woodward in the role of Stagger, The Protectorate's spokesman and strategist who has the power to slow time around him.
Woodward left to appear at a sci-fi convention in London. Bel Davies was the recipient of a 2007 New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) Outstanding Individual Performance Award for his role in Austentacious, a musical adaptation of Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice," as performed by a community theater group. Save The World has been directed by Michael Barakiva and continues on at the American Theatre of Actors (Chernuchin Theatre, 2nd floor), 314 West 54th Street (between 8th and 9th Avenues) through February 9.
"Save The World is a globe-spanning adventure, exploring the moral limitations of incredible power. The superheroes of the Protectorate (Legend, Umbra, Stagger, Prodigy, Quake, Roach, and Future-Knight) fight bravely to protect the earth from a series of seemingly unrelated disasters. But when the unthinkable occurs the team begins to splinter. In their desperate search for the cause of the threat, compromises are made. So are mistakes. With their incredible powers and their human failings, the heroes risk becoming threats themselves to the good they've sworn to uphold," explain press notes. The seven-member cast also includes: Craig Bridger, Charissa Chamorro, Christine Corpuz, Noshir Dalal, Kelly Hutchinson, and Danielle Skraastad.
Save The World plays through February 9 on a Thursday and Friday at 8:00 p.m., Saturday at 3:00 and 8:00 pm schedule. All tickets are $18.00. The box office number to charge tickets is 800-838-3006 or www.brownpapertickets.com/event/25586. Reservations may also be made at 212-696-6699.
