Short Play Series Returns INFILTRAGE 2: EARTH WIND & FIRE June 11 - 27 at The Flea
Infiltrage is a group of playwrights who originally met during Craig Lucas' ‘pataphysics workshop at The Flea Theater several years ago. Shortly after the workshop, the group presented Infiltrage 1 at the Flea, which was a highly successful evening of short plays. Since then, the group has existed as a loose, but supportive assemblage of writers, directors, and actors which has grown and contracted and morphed into other creative outlets, before reforming in its original configuration. Now the company presents INFILTRAGE 2: EARTH, WIND & FIRE, an evening of 6 short plays by Elisa Abatsis, Molly Goforth, Joseph Brendan Martin, Dale Perreault, Eric Scholl, and Jonathan Wallace. Performances run June 11 - 22 at The Flea Theater.
The program for INFILTRAGE 2: EARTH, WIND & FIRE is as follows:
EARTH:
Crap/Last Page by Elisa Abatsis. Directed by Halina Ujda. A funny drama about abortion and playwriting.
Lament and Fragmentation by Dale Perreault. Directed by Lindsay Goss. A ballad featuring a wild forest, a woman of severed means and a troupe of mummers in a dumb show by turns masque, frolic and calamity.
WIND:
The Debt to be Paid written and directed by Joseph Brendan Martin. The shame of a horrendous deed isolates a man and brings him into conflict with fears both real and imagined.
Moon Pigeons by Jonathan Wallace. Directed by Shetal Shah. In a tale told backward, a couple confronts the question of whether love transcends memory and time.
FIRE:
Tough by Eric Scholl. Directed by Rebecca Josue. A comedy about a boss-from-hell who is forced to contemplate his own mortality.
At the Public Burning Place written and directed by Molly Goforth. A comedy about the absolute power of fire over unwanted things (and people.)
