STALKING THE BOGEYMAN, the new drama based on the incredible true story of David Holthouse, will conclude its Off-Broadway engagement on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at New World Stages (340 W. 50th St.).

STALKING THE BOGEYMAN began previews on September 12 and opened to critical acclaim on September 29. The drama will have played a total of 20 previews and 48 regular performances.

The true story behind Stalking the Bogeyman was first introduced on the popular weekly public radio broadcast "This American Life" in 2011, which prompted an array of national and international media coverage.

The film rights for Stalking the Bogeyman are now being optioned and plans will be announced soon for several regional productions. For more information regarding stage licensing, visit Daryl Roth Theatrical Licensing at http://darylrothlicensing.com.

The Off-Broadway cast is led by Roderick Hill ("The Newsroom," Smart People, Unnatural Acts) as David Holthouse, with Erik Heger (End of the Rainbow, Macbeth at The Guthrie) as the Bogeyman, Murphy Guyer (Glengarry Glen Ross, HBO's Mildred Pierce) as Robert Holthouse, Tony Award nominee Roxanne Hart (Passion, HBO's "Hung") as Carol Crawford/Dr. Leavitt, Tony Award nominee John Herrera (The Mystery of Edwin Drood, "Person of Interest") as Russ Crawford and Kate Levy ("Blue Bloods," Halfway Home) as Nancy Holthouse.

In the spring of 2003, David Holthouse was a successful, award-winning journalist. But no one knew that David had two dark secrets -- first, that 25 years ago he was the victim of a horrific sexual assault, and second, that he was quietly planning the ultimate revenge on the man responsible.

A story of transformation, healing and forgiveness of the highest order, Stalking the Bogeyman follows one man's quest for revenge as he comes to grips with the killer inside him.

The performance on Wednesday, November 5 will feature a post-show talkback with cast members and Steve LePore, founder and Executive Director of 1in6, an organization dedicated to helping men who have had unwanted or abusive sexual experiences in childhood live healthier, happier lives.

Adapted and directed by Markus Potter, STALKING THE BOGEYMAN was created from the original true story and subsequent news reports, as well as conversations with Holthouse, lectures he has given around the country and original text by the playwright, with additional writing by Santino Fontana, Shane Zeigler and Shane Stokes.

David Holthouse is an award-winning journalist, screenwriter and documentary filmmaker living in Anchorage, Alaska. His work has been published in national magazines including Rolling Stone, Men's Journal, The Nation and many more.

Markus Potter's directing credits include Black Wizard/Blue Wizard by Dave Malloy at Incubator Arts and Why You Beasting? at The Players Theatre, Off-Broadway.

The production features scenic design by David Goldstein, costume design by Tristan Raines, lighting design by Cory Pattak and sound design and original composition by Erik T. Lawson.
STALKING THE BOGEYMAN had its world-premiere production last fall at the North Carolina Stage Company.

The New York premiere production is produced by NewYorkRep, La Vie Productions, Soumyo Sarkar, RSV Investment Partners, James J. Seiler & David Smith and Wolfstone Productions; Kathy Henderson, Amy Van Nostrand, Santa Barbara Holdings, Ian Kahn and Adam Richman are Associate Producers.

NewYorkRep is committed to developing and producing innovative new work. The company gravitates towards theater that reveals truths about the universe, exposes the travesty and beauty of human kind, and creates empathy -- thus changing the culture in which we live.
