In April 2011 the College of Fine Arts & Design’s Broadway Tonight presented the World Premiere of an original musical, FLIPSIDE: THE Patti Page STORY, about Oklahoma music legend, Patti Page. FLIPSIDE is based on interviews with Miss Patti Page and written by Oklahoma artist (and UCO Faculty member) Greg White. FLIPSIDE was selected from nearly 3,500 national productions to attend the 2012 Regional & National Kennedy Center Festivals. The piece won numerous honors at the Kennedy Center, including Best Musical.
After receiving the Kennedy Center honors, FLIPSIDE: THE Patti Page STORY was invited to perform at the prestigious 59E59 Theaters in New York City in December 2012.

Soft spoken Claremore native Clara Ann Fowler wound up making a big noise in the entertainment industry: she became the highest selling female recording artist of the 1950s with TV shows on all three major networks on her way to selling over 100 million records with her non de swoon, the fabulous Patti Page…and this is her tale.
FLIPSIDE: THE Patti Page STORY has an exciting future. There are current plans for a National Tour (2013-14), as well as a sit down at the largest theatre in Branson, Missouri (The Mansion—managed by Oklahoman, Larry Wilhite). The ultimate aim is to produce FLIPSIDE On or Off-Broadway in NYC and then release the show for licensing. The 59 E. 59 Limited Engagement proves a vital step in the development of & exposure for FLIPSIDE: THE Patti Page STORY.
FLIPSIDE was written and directed by an Oklahoma artist and the cast, crew, and creative team are also all Oklahomans. The piece preserves and promotes Oklahoma music and history while celebrating our collective artistic heritage. The 59 E. 59 invitation will impact more than 15 of our current Central students, while offering Central Alumni, Faculty and Staff national exposure. FLIPSIDE will showcase our esteemed Central Fine Arts/Music Theatre programming at a national level.
