On Halloween 2010, Sarah Mucho and System Noise will resurrect their acclaimed, live interpretation of David Bowie's classic album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars at The Bleecker Street Theatre in New York City. Ziggy will be part of Space Oddity: Halloween 2010, a space-themEd Halloween event that will also feature The Lounge-O-Leers and Wounded Buffalo Theory, as well as fun prizes, drink specials, and tons of free candy.

Originally part of the award-winning cabaret series Under the Covers, Sarah Mucho, Kurt Leege, Paul Pouthier, Sanford Arisumi, Michael Isaacs, and Clare Cooper, under the direction of Kristine Zbornik, gave their final performance of Ziggy Stardust in October 2005 after only ten performances, leaving audiences begging for more. Equipped with a new creative team, which includes award-winning independent filmmaker/playwright Aaron Mark (www.aaronmark.net) acting as director and the additions of Liz Lark Brown, Rob Malko and Mark Bailey on stage, Mucho and company will breathe new life into this theatrical rock concert and take it to even greater heights, making the last five years well worth the wait.

Mucho approached this legendary album with a sense of both reverence and innovation.  Using elements of theatre and cabaret along with the pure excitement and energy of rock and roll (much like Bowie himself) she remains true to its musical brilliance while interjecting her own commentary and style throughout. Of the 2004-05 run of Ziggy, critics raved:

Also performing at the event are the wacky and fabulous Lounge-O-Leers and the Brooklyn-based progressive rock band, Wounded Buffalo Theory.  The Lounge-O-Leers (www.loungeoleers.com) is comprised of two of New York cabaret's finest, Ricky Ritzel and Aaron Morishita.  Playing a mélange of bachelor pad sounds in their trademark deadpan style throughout the event, the Lounge-O-Leers present a living soundtrack expressly for the entertainment of the subconscious mind. Wounded Buffalo Theory (www.woundedbuffalotheory.com) will take the stage for the dancing/party portion of the night, all set to images from Halloween-themed sci-fi films. Wounded Buffalo Theory was founded in 2002 and has since released six studio albums. They are known for their intense and visually compelling live performances as well as their songwriting and instrumental prowess.

Also acting as producer of Space Oddity, Sarah Mucho is a renaissance woman. She is best known as the lead singer for the ferocious, Brooklyn-based rock band, System Noise (www.facebook.com/systemnoise) but it was with Ziggy Stardust in 2005 that she rose from complete obscurity and began building a name for herself in the New York cabaret and rock communities, earning herself a 2005 MAC nomination. Since then, she has continued to produce diverse and compelling work, including two original rock albums with System Noise, an original folk album with The Sometime Boys, the acclaimed cabaret show, Subterranean Circus, also the recipient of a 2008 MAC Award.  In addition, she is a curator for the underground New York music series, Zeitgeist.  Bold, versatile and out of the ordinary, Sarah is continuously gaining new fans anxious to see what she will do next.
