"Good-bye, good luck, SAFE HOME." -- Jim, to his son as he leaves to join the Marine Corps.
Set in Buffalo, NY during the Korean Conflict, SAFE HOME is one family's timeless story, following a young boy on his way to finally becoming a man. SAFE HOME is told with love, humor and truth.
The New York Times said: "There's more than a little Death of a Salesman in Sean Cullen's Safe Home, but Mr. Cullen's forlorn characters could never dream of a career as grand as sales. Cullen is a master of the dialogue of rapidly changing emotions. This is a bare-bones production in a tiny theater, but the cast and the director, Chris Henry, give it texture and depth." "Safe Home is shocking, powerful and almost redemptive. Buy your tickets now and then pray that this show gets the transfer it deserves." NY Press; "Safe Home is a wonderful surprise of a show. The play is a powerful piece, beautifully acted and directed. Take the time to see this new piece of theater." MusicOHM; "Safe Home feels distressingly current." Backstage; "Safe Home is entirely engrossing." Flavorpill; "Masterful performances, Safe Home is engaging, poignant and wistful." The Examiner New York.
The cast includes: Michael Cullen (Cobb, Bug), Ian Hyland (Film: Spanglish, The Ex, Favorite Son), Cynthia Mace (originated Harper in Angels in America, Garland Award for The Goat or Who is Sylvia?), Eric Miller (Sweet Storm, Betrayed TV: "The Unusuals" (ABC), "Kings" (NBC) and "Law & Order" (NBC)), Erik Saxvik (Approaching America, Nobody Suspects a Butterfly), Katy Wright Mead (Your Mom's Feet, Fishbowl.
